Job Description
The Data & Field Office Support
Specialist is tasked with providing significant support to the administrative
and data systems side of our Field Operations program, while also aggressively
working to make them ready to scale to achieve our ambitious targets year on
year. This specialist will manage our Field Office Support (FOS) team (50+
staff) which facilitates weekly execution of our program in the Field and the
Centralized Execution Audit (CEA) team (10-15 staff) which audits weekly
execution.
Responsibilities
Strategy and Vision
·
Contribute to the Field Operations 5
Year Plan, annual ‘Objectives and Key Results’ goals and planning processes for
the Field Operations Execution Team.
·
Measure progress against goals,
regularly report on progress, and hold team accountable to delivering results
in key strategic areas.
·
Drive their team to scale our program
to more clients efficiently, while maintaining a high level of service.
Field Office Support, Centralized
Execution Audits
·
Directly manage and mentor 3
sub-department managers (2 FOS Admin Coordinators and 1 CEA Coordinator)
·
Ensure that all of the sub-department
tasks are executed to world-class standards including:
Field Office Support
·
o
§
Direct oversight of our Field Office
Administration team (consisting of 45AAs, 6 AA Senior Supervisors and 2 AA
Senior Coordinators).
§
Coordinate procurement of office
supplies and materials to support district and regional offices.
§
Oversee and manage all activities
relevant to supporting Field Admin Staff (hiring, onboarding, check-ins,
performance reviews, budgeting etc.).
§
Facilitate resolution of challenges
and issues raised by Field Admin Staff.
Annual District Transition
·
o
§ Support the planning, coordination and management of the
entire annual seasonal transition process. This includes everything from
scouting and securing new district and regional offices, hiring and onboarding
new field office support teams, establishing and setting up new district
vendors, and procurement of new office materials.
§ Coordinate with Expansion, Field Staff Management and
Business Operations teams to reconfigure incentive delivery to sites and
districts that have changed and support update process for backend changes in
Roster and the Field Staff List to reflect the updated district configuration.
Centralized Execution Audits

Direct oversight of the CEA team (12
staff)
§
Facilitate creation of tools and
materials to make survey tracking and completion more efficient by the CEA team
§
Monitor execution of ongoing weekly
surveys facilitated by the two units within the CEA team (Strategy and Impact).
§
Collaboratively set Team KPIs and
metrics to measure success.
§
Regularly solicit feedback from the
wider team and other departments.
People Management Training
·
Serve as direct management line to 3
mid-level management staff who oversees significant sub-teams (Field Office
Support and Centralized Execution Audits). All told, oversee 64 full time
staff.
·
Management will include oversight,
weekly reporting meetings, performance reviews and development, strategic
direction and support.
·
Ensure that all staff receive
effective mentorship to promote career growth and capacity to handle the
organization’s rapid growth.
·
Personally lead training sessions for
senior staff members.
·
Lead and support hiring of staff
members within your sub-team.
Team and Culture
·
Within your sub-team, ensure all
staff members are connected to the mission and feel motivated to serve our
farmers each day
·

Qualifications

At minimum, a bachelor’s degree is
required for this position with strong demonstrated previous work experience
·
People management experience is a
huge plus
·
Well-organized with demonstrated
experience managing projects with high degree of complexity and detail

Ability and demonstrated experience
to work under pressure, producing quality work with little supervision
·
Excellent written and verbal
communicator with a strong sense of accountability and responsibility
·

Kenya Program Design Impact Specialist
Job Description
The Program Design department’s
vision is to provide strategic direction and annual planning for core
activities, driving towards the achievement of the Kenya program’s ambitious
scale and impact goals.
At One Acre Fund, we call impact our
“north star.” Our goal is to increase impact for the hundreds of thousands of
farmers we serve across Kenya by encouraging them to purchase impactful
products and training them on better agricultural techniques. The Impact
Specialist’s work helps us to better enable life-changing impact to farmers.
Responsibilities
Crop Health Support
The Impact Specialist provides key
crop health support on major crop related pests and diseases faced by One Acre
Fund farmers in Kenya. This work includes:

Providing technical oversight on crop
health agent work.
·
Proactive monitoring and evaluation
of crop-related issues and creating a strategy for responding to such issues.
·
Identifying opportunities to increase
field staff knowledge on crop health issues, including creating and reviewing
training and materials on crop health related topics.
·
Support for expansion and insurance
related crop issues.
Stakeholder Coordination and
Communication
·
Coordinate impact/crop related
operational activities with Field Operations and other departments, including,
but not limited to, field officer quizzes,
·
Centralized Execution Audits, field
messaging, crop SMSs, KPIs, and impact related surveys.
·
Build strong relationships with Field
Leaders to identify areas of concern in the field, including responding to
Field Leader questions and proactively
·
Seeking input/feedback on crop health
related issues.
·
Representing the impact perspective
in cross-team working groups such as weekly execution meetings and
expansion and tree working groups.
People Management
Crop Health Response Team management
·
Directly manages, mentors and coaches
the Crop Health Team Coordinator, including investing in professional
development, scoping and assigning projects, and supporting on project
execution.
·
Proactively support the continued
development of the Crop Health Response Team agents, and oversees the structure
and processes of that team.
Driving Strategic Improvements
·
Seeks opportunities to drive for
improvement by identifying challenges and drafting long term solutions in order
to increase the impact to our clients.

Manages key projects from our Impact
Strategy Pipeline.
·
Prioritizes, plan and execute process
improvements.
·
Acts as a strategic thought partner
for the Impact Lead in the development and implementation of our organisational

Qualifications
Program Design Impact Specialist
specific qualifications include, but are not limited to:

Strong academic background
required.Knowledge of crop health issues and integrated pest management is
preferred.
·
Strong work experience in a similar
field is required, with demonstrated success. Examples include a demanding
professional work experience, or successful entrepreneurial experience.
·
Experience managing a team is
preferred. Must be able to identify and prioritize team’s professional growth.
·
Demonstrated project management
abilities; successfully managing projects with high degree of detail and strong
results.
