Responsibilities
An
officer at this level will work under the guidance and supervision of an
experienced officer. Specific duties and responsibilities will entail
·
Testing and stamping mechanical and
electronic weighing and measuring equipment;
·
Collecting data on verified equipment
at trader’s premises, stamping stations and verification office;
·
Sampling pre-packaged goods for
quantitative analysis;
·
Preparing testing equipment for inspection
and investigation purposes;
·
Preparing weighing and measuring
equipment during trade fairs and exhibitions;
·
Giving evidence in court on cases
arising from infringement of the Weights and Measures Act (Cap 513) and Trade
Descriptions Act (Cap 505);
·
Perform any other duties and
responsibilities as shall be delegated from time to time.
Qualifications
For
appointment to this grade, an officer must have: –
·
Bachelor’s degree in any of the
following disciplines: Physics, Mathematics, Legal Metrology, Information
Communication Technology, or equivalent qualification from a recognized
institution; and
·
Certificate in computer applications
from a recognized institution.

Responsibilities

Identifying and documenting tourism
products;
·
Identifying Small and Medium Tourism
Enterprises (SMTE’s) and community based tourism projects;
·
Liaising with tourism stakeholders on
issues related to tourism;
·
Inspecting and preparing reports on
tourism facilities and service providers;
·
Collecting and compiling information
on tourism facilities and services for the development of Tourism guide books;
·
Undertaking domestic tourism
promotion;
·
Collecting and maintaining data on
tourism statistics;
·
Maintaining a register on tourism
facilities and services;
·
Identifying suitable locations for
mounting tourist signages; and
·
Perform any other duties and
responsibilities as shall be delegated from time to time.
Qualifications
·
Bachelors degree in either Tourism;
Tourism Management; Tourism and Hospitality Management; Eco-tourism, Hotel and
Institutional Management and Information Technology; Travel and Tour Operations
Management; International Tourism Management Hospitality Management; Travel and
Tourism Management; Hotel and Hospitality Management; or its equivalent
qualification from a recognized institution.

Responsibilities
An officer at this level will work
under the guidance of a senior officer. Duties and responsibilities will
entail:

Collecting and compiling economic and
trade related data;
·
Disseminating trade information;
·
Compiling data on recovery of loans
owed to the Joint Loans Board (JLB);
·
Facilitating trade promotion
activities; and
·
Participating in the implementation
of trade related development projects; and
·
Perform any other duties and
responsibilities as shall be delegated from time to time.
Qualifications
For appointment to this grade a
candidate must have
·
Bachelor degree in any of the
following disciplines; commerce, marketing, business administration, Business
Management, Entrepreneurship, International trade Business Relations or its
equivalent from a recognized institution; and
·
Certificate in computer applications
from a recognized institution.
