Business Development Manager Job in Kenya

Our client is a security solutions provider offering risk management and loss prevention services from different branches within the country.

Business Development Manager  

Job Summary
Reporting to the Managing Director the suitable candidate will be responsible for leading and developing a strong management team capable of exercising effective management, financial and operational control of a business unit (Branch, Specialist Trading Unit or Project). 


1. Primary Purpose    
  • Business development (sales, marketing, new business gains)
  • Managing the profit and loss of the company
  • Service delivery standards (staffing, product performance)
2. Secondary Purposes    
  • Support the Managing Director (MD) in achieving Country goals and targets by assisting with annual budget preparation and periodic tactical budget reviews
  • Support the MD by providing regular updates on activities and issues arising
  • Submit monthly financial management reports, on the specified dates and any other monthly activity reports that may be required by the MD/Board.
  • Ensure that the business represents the highest standards of professional performance and integrity at all times.
  • Facilitate in developing and Implement the company’s strategic plan

For appointment of this position applicants MUST HAVE met the following requirements: 

Knowledge and Experience
  • Minimum of 4 years work experience in a managerial position in the service industry (i.e. Telecommunication, Insurance, Logistics industry)
  • Should possess a recognized qualification (first degree or equivalent).
  • A professional qualification in marketing will be an added advantage
  • A good understanding in the use and application of IT
  • Self-motivated and extremely driven
  • A team  player with a strong sense of discipline and good interpersonal skills
  • A natural leader and decision maker
  • Ability to manage, develop and motivate  the existing  team
  • Excellent communication skills
