Accountant
Responsibilities
- Prepare, examine, and analyze accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.
- Prepare reconciliation reports on cash, debts and other transactions as required.
- Compute taxes owed and prepare tax returns, ensuring compliance with payment, reporting and other tax requirements.
- Analyze business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations, to project future revenues and expenses and provide advice
- Establish chart of accounts, and assign entries to proper accounts.
- Develop, maintain, and analyze budgets, preparing periodic reports that compare budgeted costs to actual costs.
- Liaise with banks on status of the authority’s accounts as necessary
- Ensure proper recording of all payments, receipts and other accounting transactions and prepare the appropriate reports
- Ensure recording and tracking of all expenses and costs and prepare expense reports.
Qualifications
- University degree in a business related discipline
- CPA (K), ACCA finalist
- 3 years’ experience in a busy environment
- Analytical skills
- Ability to pay attention to detail
