Deputy Director - Finance

Overall Objective of this Position: Provide strategic leadership in developing and overseeing the implementation of a prudent financial management system in the Authority.

This position shall report to the Director, Corporate Support Services.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Prepare strategic and operational plans for Finance Department to ensure that all necessary tools, processes and systems are in place to meet the financial management requirements of the Authority, and contribute the achievement of its goals.
  • Develop and install effective financial management systems, standards and procedures.
  • Plan and coordinate timely preparation of work plans and budget estimates in line with the Authorities strategic plan.
  • Establish and enforce effective revenue and expenditure monitoring and control measures and procedures.
  • Ensure proper utilization and investment of Authority’s funds, coordinate and monitor proper investment of surplus funds.
  • Liaise with relevant Government Ministries, Departments and Agencies on implementation of public financial management law and regulations.
  • Ensure timely compliance with financial and fiduciary obligations of the Authority.
  • And any other duties as shall be directed by the Director General.

Job Requirements

For appointment to this position, the successful applicant:
  • Must possess a Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or accounting.
  • Master’s degree in a relevant field will be an added advantage.
  • Must be the holder of professional Qualifications such as CPA, ACA, ACCA, ACMA and a member of a relevant professional body.
  • Team player with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Possess good communication skills
  • Have working experience of at least seven (7) years, five (5) of which should be at senior management level in a recognized institution.
  • Proficient in computer use and applications.
