Area Sales Manager Job in Kenya

Job Title: Area Sales Manager 

Job Purpose: Achieves area sales operational objectives by contributing sales information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; completing audits; identifying trends; determining sales system improvements; implementing change.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Maintaining and increasing sales of our company's products
  • Reaching the targets and goals  
  • Establishing, maintaining and expanding customer base
  • Servicing the needs of your existing customers
  • Increasing business opportunities through various routes to market
  • Setting sales targets for individual reps and your team as a whole
  • Recruiting and training sales staff  
  • Allocating areas to sales representatives
  • Developing sales strategies and setting targets
  • Monitoring your team's performance and motivating them to reach targets
  • Compiling and analyzing sales figures
  • Dealing with some major customer accounts
  • Collecting customer feedback and market research
  • Reporting to senior managers
  • Keeping up to date with products and competitors
Skills/Competencies: Meeting Sales Goals, Motivation for Sales, Territory Management, Presentation Skills, Performance Management, Building Relationships, Emphasizing Excellence, Negotiation, Results Driven, Sales Planning, Managing Profitability.
Knowledge and Experience
  • Bachelors Degree in a Business related field from a recognized institution. Additional diploma in Sales and Marketing will be an added advantage
  • Sound Knowledge in Customer plan implementation
  • Knowledge of regional trade channels
  • Excellent negotiation, communication/presentation, problem solving, teamwork and interpersonal skills
  • Management of the customer’s supply chain interface
  • Minimum of 4-5 years experience in a similar role in FMCG industry
