Title: Branch
Manager (Nairobi & Kisumu)
Reports
To: Head of Sales and Business Development
Job
Purpose: The position is responsible for the profitable growth of the
branch, overseeing branch operations and maintaining good custody of all the
company assets within the branch.
Contribute
to the development and operationalization of policies for the achievement of
corporate plans as stipulated in the business strategy.
Key
Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities
· Responsible
for the revenue to the set targets through retention and acquisition of new
business on new and existing accounts.
· Monitor
market activities and identify ways in which the company’s services can be
improved and rendered more competitive.
· Promote
business growth and achievement of set performance growth targets by marketing
Kenya Orient as a brand and selling its general insurance products to new and
existing customers.
· Manage
in-house agents, independent agents, brokers and other channels.
· Achieve
set business renewal rates as agreed and set in the business plan.
· Achieve
the product mix by class and product line as set out in periodic business plans
and strategies.
· Manage
credit control and premium collection in line with credit policy.
· Manage
costs within the branch in order to achieve desired profitability and set
management expense ratios.
· Ensure that branch operations run smoothly and profitably so that quality service is provided to customers at all times.
· Ensure
strict adherence to the cash and carry policy as per company guidelines.
· Vet
risks before they are accepted in the company books and ensure compliance with the
set internal audit controls and other periodic recommended internal processes
by the management.
· Lead
and motivate the branch team to ensure the achievement of branch objectives is
aligned with the company strategy.
Requirements
· A
Bachelor’s degree in a business-related course (Insurance option, Marketing,
Business Administration and Finance) from a recognized university.
· 6 years
relevant experience, 2 of which should be at the Supervisory level or above.
Diploma in CII or AIIK
