The St. Francis Community Hospital (STFCH) wishes to recruit a highly motivated, competent, honest and remarkably talented Ortho Trauma Technologist.

Reporting to the Unit in charge, the Ortho Trauma Technologist
shall be responsible for supporting and caring for patients during orthopaedic
procedures including application and removal of casts, splints and braces and
other relevant procedures
Key Responsibilities
· Manipulating and reducing fractures and dislocations.
· Application and removal
of P.O.P and splints in the clinic,theatre,and inpatient
· Apply both skeletal and
skin traction in the wards.
· Participating in the
management of minor orthopaedic and trauma cases in emergencies and accidents.
· Offer Counseling and
health education to patients with orthopedic trauma.
· Diagnosis and making
treatment plans for Ortho Trauma cases.
· Interpreting images e.g
X-Ray
· Instruct patients on how
to care for their injuries, care of cast and other equipment recommended for
their treatment.
· Assisting patients in
the orthopaedic clinic who are immobile.
· Help maintain
cleanliness in the unit.
Qualifications
· Diploma in Orthopedic
and Trauma Technology from a recognized Institution.
· Minimum of 2-3 years
relevant working experience in a similar position.
· Registration with the
relevant professional body.
· Practice license from
the relevant profession body.
· Certificate in computer
applications from a recognized institution.
· BLS and ACLS
certification is an added advantage.
