Key Responsibilities
- Identify and develop investments and financing options with a view of maximizing net returns to members
- Continuously review the internal controls and systems for efficient financial management
- Ensure financial payment process are within approved financial guidelines and work plans
- Facilitate preparation of the firm annual budget for Board approval
- Provide professional advice on financial matters to Officer and the Board
- Management of members loans and advances in a timely manner
- Ensuring timely management of accounts and statutory reports are produced by specific dates
- Implementation and maintenance of all computerized accounting systems
- Continuously Identify appropriate solutions for potential financial problems by analyzing accounts data.
- Prepare members reports, coordinate auditing of the firm operations and maintain supporting documents and records
- Inducting, coaching, training and motivating departmental Staff
- Budget preparation ,monitoring and investment of funds
- Prepare and analyze on a regular basis the business plans, budgetary estimates and provide explanations on variances.
- Preparation of Monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports.
- Co-ordinate overall Society Financial Planning and enforcing financial controls.
- Preparation of annual budgets.
- Preparation of end year Accounts.
- Enforce Society financial procedures and recommend areas for improvement.
- Ensure tax compliance and timely remittance of statutory deductions.
- Monitoring of revenues and costs through cash flows forecasts.
- Ensuring completeness, accuracy and validity of all financial transactions.
- Provide investment advice to maximize revenues.
- Preparation and execution of strategic plans.
- Participation in Risk Management.
Academic Qualifications and skills
required
- Applicants must hold a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Finance or Accounting and must be a CPA (K) or any other equivalent professional qualifications in Accounting.
- An MBA will be an added advantage.
- 3 years working experience in the same role.
- Analytical skills, good communications and interpersonal skills and user knowledge of IT financial reporting.
