Team Leader - Treasury Operations
 
Shelter-Afrique is a regional Housing Finance Institution established by African governments and the African Development Bank dedicated to investment in housing and urban development in African countries. 

The current shareholding comprises 44 African countries, the African Development Bank and the African Re-Insurance Corporation. 

The institution, with its headquarters in Nairobi, would like to fill the position of Team Leader - Treasury Operations in its Financial Management Department.
 
Overall Purpose and Key Responsibilities
 
Responsible to Finance Director for leading and managing the Treasury Unit. 

Responsible for recommending Treasury policies, improve forecasting and management of liquidity. 

In addition responsible for a thorough understanding of Treasury Management products and related implementation processes. 

Participate in the creation of complex implementation checklists and project plans that will be followed by both staff and customers.

In addition manage relationships with the major Banks and manage the institutions foreign currency exposure. 

Will support working capital improvements, implementing proactive strategies and managing international payments. 

The ability to drive through improvements is essential.
 
Minimum Qualifications & Experience
  • Masters in Business Administration , Finance or Economics
  • Ideally be a qualified Accountant, ACCA, CIMA, ACCA, or Treasury qualification (ACT) with prior experience in an international multicurrency environment.
  • Minimum 8 (eight) years working experience
  • Additional training/courses on finance, IT (Oracle, MS Office, Word, Excel) is a plus;
  • Fluency in either English or French with good working knowledge of the other language.
Key Skills and Competencies
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks with a strong understanding of complex credit/facilities agreements
  • Experience from a private equity-backed business is desirable.
  • Analytical skills
  • Resourceful with well established network in local and international financial sector.
  • Exposure to marketing of forex and treasury financial services is an asset
