Profile Introduction
 
Our Client, a fast growing Internet, Satellite TV and VOIP provider operating across the greater East African region; seeks to recruit a Facilities and Security Officer responsible for providing guidance and direction for the planning, implementation and operation of the organization’s Security and Facilities Management activities.
 
The Security and Facilities Officer will report to the Administration and Facilities Manager.
 
Minimum Requirements/Skills/Competencies
  • Minimum of a Degree from a recognized University,
  • Post Graduate Diploma or a recognized security qualification with 3-5 years proven management experience within the security industry, armed services etc
  • A sound working knowledge of security best practice and legislation affecting the security role
  • Ability to work as part of a team, as well as independently
  • Possess good oral and written communication skills.
  • Aptitude to accept challenges, confront risks and willingness to work round-the-clock.
  • Possess a certificate of good conduct.
Job Specification
  • Develop and enforce security policies to ensure a safe environment for employees and visitors at all the organisation’s premises.
  • Assist external Investigator in investigating network sabotage, conducting raid, reporting to police etc
  • Supervision of other Security and Facilities service providers including security guards
  • Continuously assess the company’s internal as well as external security threats and put in place appropriate measures. Initiate, coordinate and manage all the safety related tasks within the organization
  • Monitoring company CCTV’s, respond to any security breaches at any of the organisation’s premises. Report significant security breaches at any of the organisation’s premises to police
  • Monitoring of the Company’s door access control system and responding to any security violations
  • Issue security guidelines and directives to staff on a regular basis and ensure that the guidelines and rules are properly followed, make the staff knowledgeable about useful workplace safety tips.
  • Coordinating emergency response plans, ensure that the appropriate level of training is provided for all security personnel on disasters; fire and bomb procedures; use of technical equipment and routine security duties.
  • Coordinating all aspects of risk assessment and employee involvement, training staff at all levels in environmental issues and responsibilities;
  • Facilitate a work environment that supports a secure & risk free culture
  • Perform safety audits and inspect facilities, machinery, and safety equipment to identify and correct potential hazards, and to ensure safety regulation compliance
  • Investigate industrial accidents, near-miss incidents, and occupational injuries to determine causes, install preventive measures, and manage return-to-work activities
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
