Position: Finance Manger (Ref: 2013/05)
Location: Nairobi
Purpose:
This position is a senior management position representing
Finance department in executive management.
The major job responsibilities are providing overall leadership,
guidance and supervision to Finance department in regards to accurate financial
information, management reports, budget management, ensuring the compliance to
financial policies, procedures, and donor requirements, and developing a good
working capital management system within CRS/KE Country Program.
Summary of Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
- Manage
and supervise the day to day activities of Finance department and ensure
strong and positive team dynamics.
- Coordinate
Annual Program Plan (e-budget) preparation and budgeting for proposals
with Program Managers and present to relevant authorities
- Manage
the quarterly cash forecast process and decide the periodical cash flow
requests from HQ
- Supervise
the CP’s cost allocation process ensuring that all shared costs have been
captured in the special donor source codes
- Review
and verify financial transactions, documents and financial statements of
the agency ensuring their integrity and compliance with policies,
regulations and local law
- Promptly
manage the internal/external audit process and assist in preparation of
management response to audit recommendations
- Develop
a system of periodical reports to senior management and program staff for
effective decision-making.
- Ensure
timely and accurate donor reporting in accordance with terms of the signed
agreements.
- Supervise
and conduct partner financial management assessments
- Provide
technical and managerial support in all aspects of finance to both CRS
staff and partners
- Manage
all country program financial assets including cash, investments and
receivable activity.

Desired Qualifications, Skills And Abilities
- Degree
in Finance or Business Administration, CPA(KE) or equivalent; a masters
degree in relevant field will be considered an advantage.
- Minimum
of 8-10 years experience in senior finance position. International
non-profit organization experience will be added advantage.
- Very
good understanding of general accounting principles and practices, audit
processes, internal control systems and knowledge of Kenyan Tax
Regulations -Familiarity with US Government regulations is desirable.
- Excellent
Computer skills (SunSystems, Q&A, and MS office)
- Excellent
presentation and oral/written communication skills.
- Analytical
thinking and logical reasoning skills.
- A
professional with high personal integrity and commitment
- A
good steward of agency resources and ability to cope with people from
diverse backgrounds
