Financial Manager - Pecorusti Trading

This position is based in Angola, DRC, and 2 South Soudan & Nigeria

Job Description & Duties
  • Develop and analyse information to assess the current and future financial status of firms.
  • Establish procedures for custody and control of assets, records, loan collateral, and securities, in order to ensure safekeeping.
  • Evaluate data pertaining to costs in order to plan budgets.
  • Evaluate financial reporting systems, accounting and collection procedures, and investment activities, and make recommendations for changes to procedures, operating systems, budgets, and other financial control functions.
  • Oversee the flow of cash and financial instruments.
  • Plan, direct, and coordinate risk and insurance programs of establishments to control risks and losses.
  • Plan, direct, and coordinate the activities of workers in branches, offices, or departments of such establishments as branch banks, brokerage firms, risk and insurance departments, or credit departments.
  • Prepare financial and regulatory reports required by laws, regulations, and boards of directors.
  • Prepare operational and risk reports for management analysis.
  • Communicate with stockholders and other investors to provide information, and to raise capital.
  • Analyse and classify risks and investments to determine their potential impacts on companies.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with individual and business customers, and provide assistance with problems these customers may encounter.
  • Examine, evaluate, and process loan applications.
  • Recruit staff members, and oversee training programs.
  • Review collection reports to determine the status of collections and the amounts of outstanding balances.
  • Review reports of securities transactions and price lists in order to analyse market conditions.
  • Submit delinquent accounts to attorneys or outside agencies for collection.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in business with finance or accounting focus; MBA preferred.
  • 5 - 7 years of related experience.

This position is based in South Africa

Job Description & Duties
  • In this position, the Sr Manager Finance will be expected to provide financial leadership, direction and analysis. 
  • The Sr Mgr Finance will play a key role in driving functional metrics, controlling costs, and work closely with the functional leader in order to achieve business goals.
  • This position will be responsible for developing financial planning, reporting and leading a team of professionals.
  • Strategic Analysis/Problem Solving - Works to fully understand business; identify and implement process and organizational improvements. Plans and ensures execution of department objectives. 
  • Participates in preparation of the annual budget, reviews monthly expenditures and ensures that budgetary goals are met. Reviews monthly metrics to ensure goals are met.
  • Project Management- Participates in cross-functional activities focused on solving business issues. Facilitates cross-functional communication with other areas of the business including but not limited to Finance, Operations, and Information Systems.
  • Leads, plans, and coordinates work teams in an efficient manner to effectively perform any financial function and activity. Ensures operational processes and procedures are compliant and consist with established policies.
  • Predict Revenues and Expenditures and Report to Management.
  • Conduct financial planning for function and make appropriate recommendations.
  • Drive key functional financial metrics.
  • Financial Reporting
Qualifications and Experience:
  • The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.
  • Minimum of 10 years relevant work experience
  • MBA
  • Thorough working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and internal accounting controls
  • Knowledge of business and management. Principles involved in strategic planning and resource allocation.
  • Ability to develop and implement strategies that support the objectives of the company
  • Ability to lead and develop subordinates
  • Able to effectively communicate with all departments and levels of associates through both verbal and written methods
  • Critical thinking skills; using logic to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, applying general rules to specific problems.
