Chief Internal Auditor Job in Kenya

The Authority is seeking to recruit qualified Kenyan citizens to fill the following position:
Chief Internal Auditor

Department / Section: Internal Audit and Quality Review
Reports To: Manager Internal Audit & Review
Job Purpose
To add value to KCAA’s operations by undertaking independent, systematic and objective audit reviews/evaluation of the Authority’s policies systems, processes and practices.
Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) is a State Corporation under the Ministry of Transport.
Our Mission is “to develop, regulate, and manage a safe, efficient and effective Civil Aviation System in Kenya” with a Vision “to be a model of Excellence in Civil Aviation”.
Scope of work / duties / responsibilities
§  Prepare and implement the annual audit plan.
§  Continuously assess the effectiveness of internal controls and the degree of compliance
§  Evaluate and advise on organizational risk management process
§  Identify areas of fraud or malpractice and initiate investigations
§  Prepare periodic audit reports and recommendations
§  Undertake follow-ups on implementation of both external and internal audit recommendations
Qualifications
§  Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Accounting, Finance, Economics or any other social science
§  Member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK)
Experience
§  A Minimum of five (5) years relevant professional experience in accounting and auditing of which three (3) years should be at supervisory level.
Knowledge and skills
§  Working knowledge of Internal Auditing Standards and International Reporting Standards
§  Ability to work independently without supervision, and to maintain the highest levels of integrity and confidentiality of information
§  Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
§  Proficiency in MS Office Suite
