Kenyan citizens to fill the following position:

Job
Purpose: To assist in the
administration of the various communication activities in the section.
Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) is a
State Corporation under the Ministry of Transport.
Scope
of work / duties / responsibilities
§ Assist the Corporate Communication Manager in all
communication and events management activities by:
1. Organising events as directed by the Corporate Communication
Manager
2. Screening media and all publications with regard to KCAA
activities
3. Drafting communication to internal and external publics as
required, including press releases
4. Responding to ad-hoc queries from external public
5. Supervising the layout, printing, publication and
distribution of the Authority’s newsletter, brochures, pamphlets, posters and
other printing materials
6. Overseeing the publication in the media all advertising
materials and institutional advertisements
7. Monitoring KCAA’s Customer service levels
§ Create programmes of information on the Authority’s
activities, facilities and services using appropriate communication tools.
§ Supervise and monitor KCAA customer care levels
§ Perform any other duty as may be directed by the Director
General from time to time.
Qualifications
§ A Bachelors Degree in Public Relations or in a relevant field
such as Communications/Marketing from a recognized University; or a Bachelors
Degree in relevant social science area with a diploma in any relevant area such
as Public Relations/Communications/Marketing from a recognized University.
§ A Masters degree will be an added advantage.
Experience
§ At least 5 years experience gained in related areas such as
events management, press relations, and public relations etc
Knowledge
and skills
§ Good Planning and organizing skills to effectively manage
various types of communication and events
§ Written communication skills to draft press releases,
speeches, news articles and other written communications.
§ An ability to differentiate between what can be communicated
or not, and how to communicate it;
§ Requires diplomacy to manage sensitive information
§ Ability to develop mutually beneficial professional, on-going
relationships with internal and external publics
