Job Vacancy: Gardener
Department / Project:Program Support
1.0 Job Summary: The purpose of this
position is to provide gardening services towards ensuring the cleanliness of
the office environment, support services related to compound and office
cleanliness as well as messenger services and any other official support
services requested.
2.1 Office Cleanliness and Other
Support Services
a) Maintains the office landscape
thoroughly attending to the lawn, flowers, plants and fencing
b) Sweeps the parking lots clean daily
c) Keeps the outdoor furniture clean
d) Mows the lawns
e) Maintains the dustbin area cleanliness
f) Ensures the cleanliness of the offices,
windows and wash rooms when called upon, and the accessories (tissues papers,
detergents, towels etc) in use are adequately availed and replaced where
necessary
g) Dusts office documentation equipment
(computers/printers/photocopiers/faxes) shelves and desks when called upon
h) Provides clerical assistance to staff
through photocopying, binding, filling
i) Receives, distributes and dispatches
mails
j) Prepares and serves tea for staff as
well as guests
2.2 General
a) Any other duties as may be assigned by
the supervisors
3 Required Qualifications

Form
four level KSCE Grade C
·
3
years of experience in similar positions
·
Good
knowledge of English and Kiswahili
·
Training
in landscaping and lawn manicure or other related courses
·
5
years’ experience may cover for lack of specialised training

as well as any other official support services requested.

Responsibilities and Tasks
2.1
Office Cleanliness and Other Support Services
a)
Ensures the cleanliness of the offices and its environment
b)
Ensures that the wash rooms are clean and the accessories (tissues papers,
detergents, towels etc) in use are adequately availed and replaced where
necessary
c)
Dusts office documentation equipment (computers/printers/photocopiers/faxes)
and desks on a daily basis
d)
Keeps windows in assigned areas clean
e)
Maintains the office landscape thorough attending to the lawn, flowers, outdoor
furniture, plants and fencing
f)
Provides clerical assistance to staff through photocopying, binding, filling
g)
Receives, distributes and dispatches mails
h)
Prepares and serves tea for staff as well as guests
i)
Makes requisition for the purchase of items used frequently within his/her
duties (milk, sugar)
