Local Government Nutrition Assistant
JOB LOCATION: Kakamega, Kenya
REPORTING TO: Government Relations Nutrition Specialist
By 2020, One Acre Fund expects to have 1M+ households in our product distribution and training network, including roughly 5M children. With this growth, we are seeing the ability to influence the adoption of life-improving products at a meaningful scale.
Using this network to affect nutrition and health outcomes is emerging as an increasingly large impact priority. Our program has already demonstrated statistically significant reductions in reported hunger; but we want to take this work to the next level through a comprehensive nutrition program that improves key nutrition outcomes in our farmer population.
This role will involve working closely with government relations nutrition specialist, the wider government relations team, and the product innovations team to oversee successful trials of new products and services within the One Acre Fund farmer network.

Roles

·         Build and maintain relations with county and sub county health management officials of at least 5 counties and its sub-counties.
·         Support in the initial engagement with a new county and sub county by ensuring they are fully engaged and supportive in our operations.
·         Organize field visits with government health officials during program launch and routine field outreach visits.
·         Act as a contact person in handling One Acre fund’s health referral system and work closely with health facilities located within areas of operation.
·         Work with Product Innovation team in the coordination and monitoring of One Acre Fund’s nutrition interventions and with close collaboration with the county and sub county health officials.
·         Represent One Acre Fund in government stakeholder forums at county and sub-county health and nutrition technical engagements.
·         Maintain a stakeholder database and manage the day to day relationships with all key influencers and other partners at county level.

Farmers First
·         Provide regular and consistent technical support during trainings and supervision of MOH’s community health volunteers (CHVs).
·         Support in the preparation of monthly and quarterly nutrition study reports presented to the County health management teams and technical working groups.
·         Track renewals of all regulatory and government approval documents.
·         Keep track of all expected and non-expected adverse events reported by field teams.
·         Provide a variety of nutrition administrative support functions.

Requirements

·         At least 2 years’ relevant experience within an NGO or a government entity
·         Degree or diploma in any health sciences; Specialization in nutrition will be an added advantage
·         Understands the national and county ministry of health’s structure and operations
·         Advanced knowledge in areas of public health and nutrition
·         Exceptional leader with strong interpersonal and communication skills
·         Good computer and analytical skills Good writing and reporting skills
·         Should be flexible and willing to travel across Western region
·         Language: English and Swahili

Study Enumerator
JOB LOCATION: Siaya, Kenya
REPORTING TO: Study Supervisor/Investigator
We are an international NGO with a strong footprint in Kenya, Rwanda, Burundi, and Tanzania: In these countries our 3,000+ strong staff serves over 200,000 smallholding farmers and helps them to grow their way out of hunger and poverty.
Monitoring and Evaluation department is devoted to finding accurate and actionable impact. We are seeking experienced and talented individual to take up the position of a Study Enumerator in the M&E department to work in Siaya County. This is a Six Months Contract. Below are the details for the position and directions on how to submit application:

Duties

·         Participate in training on survey techniques and data collection
·         Provides support for the refining and translation of survey instruments
·         Participate in pre-testing of survey instruments and offering feedback
·         Collect accurate and reliable qualitative and quantitative data using tablets
·         Re-visit households as advised by the supervisor/ investigator
·         Any other tasks assigned

Requirements

·         Possess a post-secondary education in health sciences (Nutrition, nursing, public/community health, or other related disciplines)
·         Possess knowledge on data collection techniques and research ethics

·         Time management skills and ability to work independently
·         Proven Ability to be proactive
·         Proven excellent attention to detail
·         Passionate about serving smallholder farmers
·         Previous experience in a similar role or in the public/community health sector is an added advantage

Orders & Distribution Coordinator
JOB LOCATION: Kakamega, Kenya
REPORTING TO: Orders and Distribution Project Specialist
One Acre Fund services thousands of farmers and we continue to grow every year. Each year, farmers place orders throughout the year to gain access to credit to the products we offer. This is done through the signing of a contract which acts as a record for the order.
The Order and Distribution team then takes all these orders and processes them in the order management system (Roster) to ensure we have a good record of what each farmer has ordered.
Once we have completed the orders and made the necessary purchases of the products, we then ensure that we record the timely and accurate delivery of the goods so that we have happy farmers. This order and fulfillment activity is a year round role to accommodate the multiple deliveries we provide to our farmers.
The Order & Distribution Coordinator will coordinate clients’ order processing; and train and supervise large teams of seasonal staff required to process enrollment contracts and deliveries.

Roles

Standard Coordination Role
·         On-boarding and training of data entry staff on enrollment and Input delivery processes and procedures.
·         Co-ordinates with Data entry Leads to ensure execution on enrollment contract double dataentry, data quality check, run comparison, and error correction process.
·         Co-ordinates with Data entry team leads to ensure Data Entry staff appropriately track inputs movements in the field and at warehouses, including follow-up on deliveries through IDS and TMS data entry.
·         Coordinates One Acre Fund’s staff contract data entry and staff input delivery.
·         Creation of enrollment contracts (including Standard and trial contracts) with support from Orders and Distribution Project Specialists.
·         Reconcile all Input deliveries at the end of each delivery (warehouse outflows vs roster).
Unique Role
·         Facilitate up-to-date trainings of data entry clerks. These includes enrollment contract and warehouse data entry trainings.

Farmers First
·         Responsible for all client bundle upload to the roster; this includes quality checking of data before uploading.
·         Responsible for the creation, quality checking, and generation of client input verification forms after client enrollment.
·         Business Operations lead person for One Acre Fund’s staff Product Kit. Ensures data entry and tracking of staff product Kit movements in the field and at warehouses, including any delivery follow-ups
·         Acts as Zendesk Flex #1, during peak times.
Other duties (10%)
·         Any other duties as assigned by the Order and Distribution Project Specialist.

Requirements

·         We are seeking individuals with a demonstrated long-term passion for sustainable agricultural development in Sub-Saharan Africa.
·         The ideal candidate should have exceptional professional background in logistics, field operations or any other related field.
·         Relevant work experience in the field Diploma or Undergraduate degree from a recognized institution Demonstrated Computer skills in Microsoft Office Suites
