The Council of Legal Education is
established under the Legal Education Act, No. 27 of 2012 of the Laws of
Kenya.
The core functions of the Council of
Legal Education are to regulate legal education and training, to license and
supervise legal education providers; conduct Bar Examinations; and to advice
the Government on matters relating to legal education and training.
In order to efficiently and effectively deliver its functions, the Council
wishes to recruit a full time high calibre staff in the following position:-Job Title: Finance Officer

1 Position
Location: Nairobi
Overall purpose of the job: Reporting
to the Finance, Planning and Administration manager The Finance Officer will
prepare budgets analyse risks and ensure that any expenditure is within voted
funds and monitor budget implementation.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing expenditure forecasts as per
National Treasury guidelines;
- Initiating proposals seeking funds for
additional expenditure and reallocation of voted funds.
- Monitoring expenditure and projects including
programme implementation
- Contribution to the financial aspects of the
strategic planning process and ensure that internal financial targets and
budgets are fully consistent with the strategic plan and relevant
agreements.
- Manage working capital, assets and liabilities
- Undertake product and service costing tasks
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
and Personal Attributes
- Bachelors Degree in Finance or Economics from
a recognized university;
- Masters degree will be an added advantage
- Full professional qualification in CPA-K,
ACCA, CFA
- Have a minimum of 4 years work experience in a
busy accounting environment a team player and high level interpersonal
skills;
- Must be computer literate;
Salary Scale
Basic Pay: Kshs.57,500 x 2,875 to
60,375 x 2,875 to 63,250 x 2,875 to 66,125 x 2,875 to 69,000 x 2,875 to 71,875
x 2,875 to 74,750 x 2,875 to 77,625 x 2,875 to 80,500 x 2,875 to 83,375
House Allowance: Kshs.35,000
Commuter Allowance: Kshs.8,000
