The Government of Kenya (GoK) has
signed a Financial Agreement with the International Fund for Agricultural
Development (IFAD) in December 2010 to support a six year Programme for Rural
Outreach of Financial Innovations and Technologies (PROFIT).
The overall goal of the programme is
to contribute to the reduction of poverty in rural Kenya.
Its development objective is to
increase incomes of the target group as a result of improved production,
productivity and marketing in the various rural enterprise sectors.
The Programme intends to achieve this
through an enhanced and systematically sustainable access to a broad range of
financial services coupled with the necessary capacity building to the rural
poor households. PROFIT has a national coverage with a focus on rural areas of
Kenya.
Special focus is given to areas with
agricultural potential, areas of high poverty incidence, and the ASAL
region.
The Coordination Unit (PCU) is based
at The National Treasury in Nairobi.
The Programme wishes to recruit suitable candidates to fill the positions of Rural Finance Specialist, Administrative Assistant and Driver.
Rural Finance Specialist
Ref No: PCU 003/2015
Under the supervision of the
Programme Coordinator, the Rural Finance Specialist will be the lead technical
officer for the programme implementation.
Administrative Assistant
Ref No: PCU 004/2015
Reporting to the Financial
Controller, the Programme/Administrative Assistant’s shall undertake administrative
duties for the PCU.
Driver
2 Positions
Ref No: PCU 005/2015
Reporting to the Financial
Controller, the Driver shall perform driving duties and general clerical
duties.
