AMREF Project Driver

For the last eight years AMREF through the Dagoretti Child in Need Project, dedicated itself to addressing the needs of children in vulnerable circumstances with a population of up to 34,000 children.

The project seeks to empower the community to deal with the challenges of children in ceed through the implementation of a community based rehabilitation initiatives that will strengthen the capacity of the community to improve the general living conditions and health standards of Orphans and Vulnerable Children.

The project is looking for an individual, who is well organised, highly motivated and results oriented to join a dynamic team and help bring better health for Africa. The position reports to the Project Manager and is based in Dagoretti, Nairobi.

Purpose of the job

To provide reliable and courteous transportation service with safety a top priority.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Driving project vehicles for all official duties while ensuring timeliness and safety.
  • Maintaining high standards of cleanliness of the project vehicles in custody.
  • Ensuring the project vehicle assigned is well serviced and maintained as required.
  • Maintaining up-to-date and accurate records of the vehicle work tickets.
  • Safe guarding all the contents in the project vehicles.
  • Reporting any accidents/incidents involving the project vehicle in custody to the Project Manager and Transport Officer.
Qualifications and Competencies
  • The ideal candidate must have minimum ‘O’ level education, a clean driving licence, certificate of good conduct and at least 3 years driving experience. 
  • Basic Mechanical and First Aid certificate/training is necessary.
  • Must be ICT proficient.
  • Must have a good in communication skills both verbal and written in English and Kiswahili, good interpersonal skills, flexible and a team player.
  • The candidate should have high level of honesty,integrity, confidentiality and ability to work under minimal supervision.
  • Interested in working with children.
