Job Advertisement: Security Officer
Christian Health Association of
Kenya (CHAK) is looking to hire an experienced Security Officer with expertise
on security matters from any of the main security firms in Kenya.
The security officer will
report to the Head of Finance and Administration and will be in charge of
day-to-day security matters of the organisation.
Job Responsibilities
Participate in the formulation and review of CHAK
security policy and procedures.
Give security briefings to the organisation whenever
there is need.
Ensure adherence of security procedures for safety
of property and people by communicating and training relevant parties on
various aspects.
Conduct random security checks and surveillance of
premises.
Collaborate with security service providers and law
enforcement agencies as necessary on matters of security.
Conduct regular / periodic security risk assessments
and provide a report to Head of Finance and Administration.
Provide oversight to outsourced security agencies by
preparing and scheduling suitable shift programs collating daily security
reports and training the personnel on relevant CHAK security procedures.
Coordinate and carry out regular safety procedures –
such as fire drills.
Monitoring public access and ensuring the security
of all personnel and visitors.
Collaborate with the CHAK safety management
committee by participating in regular meetings and providing advice on security
aspects.
Oversee guarding of the gate and verifying
visitors/cars.
Allow CHAKs vehicle movements based on authorized
movement schedule for the week.
Oversee the management of the generator.
Any other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
Qualifications and Requirements
High school Certificate and a diploma in security
management or related field.
Membership of relevant security professional body is
an added advantage.
Training in the security field is an added
advantage.
4 years of experience in a major security firm in
Kenya at supervisory level
Knowledge of excel and word is a must.
Fluency in spoken and written English and Kiswahili.
Knowledge in a foreign language will be an added advantage.
Excellent communication, teamwork, leadership skills
are necessary.
Basic knowledge of standard methods of reporting and
handling emergencies such as disturbances and fires, medical and security
threats will be an added advantage.
