CHAK is a national faith-based organization of the Protestant Churches, health institutions and programs from all counties of Kenya providing quality health care since 1946 through building of health systems, partnerships, and community empowerment.

Departmental Profile

To that effect, we established the CHAK Medical Equipment Programme, to offer affordable high-end medical equipment installation, emergency repair, maintenance, and quality assurance services to all clients in Kenya.

The unit also houses a high-technically empowered Dosimetry Lab, fully licensed by the Kenya Nuclear Regulatory Authority.

The unit is manned by highly experienced team of biomedical engineers with expertise in calibration and maintenance of anesthesia equipment, radiology (x-ray and ultrasound) units and radiation monitoring through accreditation by the Kenya Nuclear Radiation Authority.

CHAK is looking for medical engineering intern to support and work with the team of engineers to ensure that the unit continues to enthuse our clients by offering quality services and improving the client experience.

Responsibilities:

The intern will be responsible for: -

Providing administrative and management support to ensure efficient operation of the department.

Assisting in providing information, responding to enquiries and queries, service delivery requests and coordinating the team to effectively support the team to deliver to the clients quickly and efficiently.

Maintaining appropriate filing systems for records and documents in the dosimetry lab.

Support the team in consolidating departmental reports for submission to the radiation authority and other relevant stakeholders.

Dispatching and receiving dosimeters and repaired equipment.

Undertaking business errands such as courier of documents, spares and any items needed for delivery.

Supporting generating and sending quotations as guided by the team of engineers and the procurement department.

Assisting in debt collection.

Supporting submitting reports to KENRA and keeping records of submitted and approved documents.

Assisting in sales, product promotion and marketing efforts in collaboration with the Communications office for social media platform and website.

Any other duties as may be assigned by the medical equipment services team from time to time.

Qualifications and Requirements:


Diploma in Medical Engineering from a recognized institution.

Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.

A team player and self-starter.

Good communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.

Willingness to learn and be taught.
