Finance Manager Career Opportunity in Kenya

Duma Works is recruiting a Finance Manager for our client. 

The company is charged with the management and administration of a top domain in Kenya.

Overall Responsibility: The primary responsibility is to establish financial status by developing and implementing systems for collecting, analyzing, verifying, and reporting financial information in addition provide financial advice to the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • In charge of Monthly preparation of financial statements
  • Daily maintenance of the cash book
  • In charge of Monthly bank reconciliation
  • Manage debt collection and maintenance of the debtors ledger
  • Maintenance of the creditors ledger
  • Ensure Timely submission of statutory returns
  • Accurate accounting of the petty cash and cash in transit
  • Payroll Management
  • Supervisor the accounts assistant and accounts clerk
  • Ensuring that expenditure is as per the budget
  • Avoids legal challenges by understanding current and proposed legislation; enforcing accounting regulations; recommending new procedures,
  • Report variance between actuals and budgets
  • Participate in the annual statutory financial preparation
  • Attend and supervise to audit queries for: external and internal auditors
  • Prepare Financial board papers and present them to the board members
  • Providing financial advice and support to the organization and staff
  • Any other duties that may be assigned by management
  • Maintaining the Opreation Expense Ratio (OPEX Ratio) as per the company’s strategic plan
Qualifications
  • Degree in Finance or Accounting
  • CPA (K)
  • Minimum 4 years experience with SME’s, experience in ICT or service industry will be an advantages
  • Working Knowledge of advance accounting softwares such as Sage, quick books
  • Good grasp of tax knowledge
Skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Developing Budgets and tracking budget expenses
  • Legal Compliance knowledge
  • Sound understanding of Accounting principles
  • Computer proficient with Microsoft Office,
  • Reporting research results
