A
leading Vegetable-Oil Storage Company based in the port of Mombasa is seeking
to recruit a Junior
Accountant.
The
successful candidate MUST have experience in a large company or audit firm.
Key Responsibilities;
Key Responsibilities;
- Perform
day to day payments, ensuring all costs are captured correctly and timely.
- Perform
booking of all accounting entries in AX and responsible for the trial
balance.
- Assessing
the reliability of the stock report provided.
- Monthly
analysis of bank reconciliations/ stock reconciliations / closing books on
a timely basis.
- Fully
support the Chief Accountant during the reporting and consolidation
process.
- Responding
to any queries from MEA region and group consolidation.
- Full
support to controller for the oilseeds platform during budget/RFC process.
- Reporting
of weekly / monthly G & A against budget/RFC.
- Review
accounts and costs before reporting and consolidation in magnitude.
- Aid
in ensuring reliability and integrity of AX / magnitude reporting.
- Analysis
of actual vs budgeted figures and query variances.
- Assist
in preparation of budget and Reforecast and consolidation.
- Support
accounting team in maintaining integrity of accounts.
- Working
closely with auditors and ensuring this is done on a timely basis.
- Documenting
procedures and maintain a strong internal control environment.
- Ad-hoc
tasks required by the finance team (e.g. tax preparation).
Qualifications;
- Must
have 4 years experience in a large company or audit firm.
- Must
have a Bachelors Degree/CPA (K)/ACCA/CIMA/ACA/ICAEW.
- Must
have knowledge in internal controls and operational risks.
- Computer
literate.
- Must
be willing to relocate to Mombasa.
- Excellent
written and spoken English.
Monthly gross salary: Ksh.
190,000/= (Approx. 1,900 USD)
