TFC’s mission is to develop and diversify Kenya’s Tourism industry by providing a range of advisory and financial services to investors in tourism related enterprises. 

The Corporation is seeking to recruit a suitable candidate to fill the following position:

Procurement Officer
 
Reporting to the Chief Procurement Officer, the Procurement Officer will be in charge of the following;
 

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure continuous supply and delivery of goods, services and works, as and when required for day to day operations of the Corporation.
  • Carry out suppliers performance evaluations in accordance with existing guidelines.
  • Prepare specifications for supplies, services and works for the Corporation in consultation with departments.
  • Source, select and negotiate for the best purchase package in terms of quality, price, terms, deliveries and services with suppliers.
  • Prepare tender invitation documentation.
  • Participate in receiving and opening of tender documents.
  • Ensure proper implementation of ERP system in the department (procurement module).
Qualifications, Competencies and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Purchasing & Supplies Management or a business related degree or its equivalent from a recognized institution.
  • Diploma in Procurement & Supply Management preferably CIPS or KNEC.
  • Three (3) years experience in procurement and supply.
  • Proficiency in computer packages.

Senior Internal Auditor
 
Reporting to the Head of Audit, the Senior Internal Auditor will design, plan and coordinate operations compliance with policies, procedures and control systems of the Corporation.
 

Key Responsibilities:
  • Liaise with the Head of Audit to prepare annual audit plans and reports based on the risk assessment for approval of the Board.
  • Develop a comprehensive, practical program of engagement coverage for assigned areas.
  • Ensure conformance with acceptable standards, plans, budgets and schedules.
  • Conduct research and develop manuals and training guides.
  • Perform financial, operational and information system audits on the Corporation and subsidiary companies.
  • Review the Corporation’s system of internal controls.
  • Prepare and review operational manuals and systems and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Review the accounting, financial and other records to ensure compliance with the policies and objectives of the Corporation and that they comply with the International Accounting Standards (IAS).
  • Evaluate the maintenance of the Corporation’s assets and liabilities to ensure that expenditure is controlled within the budgetary provisions.
Qualifications, Competencies and Experience
  • Bachelor of Commerce (accounting) or a Business related degree from a recognized institution.
  • CPA (K), or ACCA,CIMA, CISA or Equivalent
  • Five (5) years in a similar position
  • Computer literacy
  • Strong analytical skills

Chief Procurement Officer
 
Reporting to the Managing Director, the Chief Procurement Officer will provide support services and supply working tools to enable departments to function effectively and efficiently.
 

Key Responsibilities:
  • Formulate and implement procurement policies and procedures.
  • Prepare procurement plans for the Corporation in liaison with Heads of Departments.
  • Ensure complete compliance with the Procurement Act, Rules and Regulations.
  • Prepare procuring formats and documents in line with the procurement procedures.
  • Identify, select and maintain credible suppliers.
  • Procure goods and services to ensure smooth operations.
  • Provide technical advice to Management, Evaluation and Disposal Committees and all the other committees specified in the Act & Regulations
  • Prepare departmental budget and manage allocated resources for effective and efficient delivery of services.
Qualifications, Competencies and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Purchasing & Supply Management or any other business related field from a recognized institution.
  • CIPS Diploma in Procurement and Supply Management or its equivalent from a recognized institution.
  • Active member of KISM
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications
  • Six (6) years practical working experience in procurement in a public organization, consultancy, reputable financial institutions or a well-established commercial organization.
  • Team player, good communication and negotiation skills

Head of Audit
 
Reporting to the Board functionally and the Managing Director administratively, the Head of Audit will be in charge of the TFC Audit functions and will be responsible for overseeing compliance and management of risks at the Corporation.


Key Responsibilities
  • Formulate and implement internal audit policies and procedures.
  • Appraise the efficiency and effectiveness of business processes, risk management practices and internal audit control systems and redesign where necessary.
  • Review operation against the business and strategic plans to determine consistency.
  • Monitor the implementation of agreed actions and initiate remedial actions where needed.
  • Produce proactive and timely internal audit reports including liaison with external auditors.
  • Train management staff to develop basic audit skills to enable them to conduct audits in their respective areas of jurisdiction in compliance with laid down audit requirements.
  • Draw the sectional budgetary proposals and present them for consideration by Management for implementation.
  • Act as the Secretary to the Audit Committee of the Board.
Qualifications, Competencies and Experience
  • Bachelor of Commerce or a degree in a business field from a recognized university.
  • A Master’s degree is an added advantage
  • Possession of CPA (K) or ACCA, CISA and CIA.
  • Ten (10) years relevant experience in a busy commercial, consultancy or financial institution
  • Proven track record of integrity.
  • High analytical skills and proficiency in computer systems
  • Team player.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
