Egerton University Investment Company
is a medium sized, organization, wholly owned by Egerton University.
It comprises three units: ARC Hotel,
Ngongogeri Farm and Lord Egerton Castle.
Post: Finance and Administration Manager
Salary: Negotiable
Terms: Contract of three (3) years with a probationary
period of six (6) months. The contract is renewable on mutual agreement subject
to your performance.
Functions: Reporting to the Managing Director of the Company,
the Finance & Administration Manager will be responsible for all the
financial and administrative operations of the company in support of its core
mandate.
Specific key tasks under this
position shall include:
- Formulation of sound financial policies,
procedures and accounting systems that ensure effective management of
funds
- Ensure compliance with all statutory
regulations, IFRS and other financial, human resource and procurement laws
and regulations
- Ensure timely preparation of financial
management reports, budgets and implementation of budgetary controls and
adherence to approved levels
- Co-ordinate the development and implementation
of the administrative and human resource policies of the company and
provide overall oversight and supervision
- Ensure the establishment and maintenance of
human resource best practices including staff contract, performance
management and continuous improvement of administrative services
- Planning and implementing institutional
administrative and development functions
- Ensure adequate insurance cover, security
arrangements and maintenance of all company property and assets
- Provide overall oversight and supervision of
all the financial and administrative departments and functions of the
company.
- Uphold a positive and professional corporate
image
- Liaise closely with the University Finance
Controller on matters related to finance and accounting of the Company
- Perform other duties as may be assigned from
time to time
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting option), or
its recognized equivalent
- Member, in good standing, of ICPAK or any
other equivalent and recognized professional body
- Masters degree in either Business
Administration or Human Resource Management or Procurement and Supplies
Management will be an added advantage
- At least seven years working experience, five
of which should have been at a senior accounting/management level.
- A proper understanding of the administration
of Finances in the public sector
- A person of high integrity and who is self
motivated
- Preferably below 50 years of age
