1. Paediatric Registrar:
Reporting to the Medical Director,
the candidate will be responsible for;
·
Patient evaluation at the Wards, ICU,
General Nursery and Special Care Unit.
·
Perform clinical examinations and
procedures.
·
Mentor Medical Officers and Intern
Doctors.
·
Participate in Well Baby Clinics and
Cardiac Programme Missions.
·
Champion the Unit continuous quality
improvement in clinical practise and service delivery.
Qualifications Required:
·
MBCHB and Masters Paediatrics
·
EPLS and ACLS Certification
The position holder must demonstrate
sound diagnostic skills and judgement, good interpersonal relations and
commitment.
2. Medical Officer - Paediatrics
The successful candidate will be
responsible for the provision of medical care for all paediatric patients at
the A&E, Special Care, General Nursery and Children’s Ward.
Key Responsibilities:
·
Provide care to In and out-patient
while observing procedures and protocols under the guidance of the Registrar.
·
Respond to emergencies that arise in
Registrar and other clinical staff.
·
Ensure all prescribed treatment and
procedures are administered timely by the clinical team.
·
Regularly monitor patients’ condition
and re-evaluate treatments as necessary.
·
Discuss test results, prescribed
procedures and treatment with patients and parents/guardians.
·
Ensure all necessary documentation is
done accurately and timely.
·
Conduct regular ward rounds with the
registrar and other clinical staff.
·
Educate patients and
parents/guardians on appropriate diet, hygiene and medication administration in
liaison with Nursing staff.
·
Actively participate in all clinical,
administrative activities and CME’s.
Minimum Requirements:
·
Hold an undergraduate Bachelor degree
in Medicine and Surgery (MBChB) from a recognized University.
·
Valid BLS, ACLS & EPLS
certification.
·
Registered with the Kenya Medical
Practitioners and Dentists Board.
·
Valid practicing license.
·
At least 1 year of post-internship
experience as a Medical Officer Paediatrics.
3. Pharmacist
Reporting to the Chief Pharmacist,
the successful candidate will be responsible for executing and implementing
pharmacy operation procedures and provide efficient services to patient.
Key Responsibilities:
·
Scrutinize prescriptions for accuracy
and suitability to ensure safe, economical and rational use of drugs and
pharmaceutical products.
·
Ensure timely and accurate posting of
all pharmacy transactions for billing purposes.
·
Counsel patients appropriately to
ensure adherence to drug therapy.
·
Provide accurate drug information to
patients, doctors and other medical personnel.
·
Ensure timely orders for stock
replenishment are made to maintain optimal stock levels.
·
Participates in quarterly stock take
exercise and contribute to timely explanation of stock variances.
·
Participates in formulating and
implementing hospital policies on drug use and pharmacy standard operating
procedures.
·
Participates in quality management
system activities including documentation, analysis and reporting for continued
improvement of services.
·
Receive, evaluate and make
recommendations on application for inclusion/deletion of drugs into the
Hospital Formulary on behalf of PTC.
·
Participates in giving Continuous Medical
Education to clinical staff in relation to drug use.
·
Participates in carrying out clinical
research on use of medicines in the hospital.
Qualifications, skills and
Experience:
·
Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy. Must
be registered with the Pharmacy & Poisons Board and hold a valid practicing
license.
·
Must be computer literate.
·
Have at least 2 years working
experience in a reasonably busy establishment.
·
Person of integrity and a team
player.
·
Good communication and interpersonal
skills.
·
Keen on detail with a high level of
accuracy.
·
Good leadership and decision making
skills.
