USAID Transition Initiatives for Stabilization (TIS) Program: The Transition Initiatives for Stabilization (TIS) program is funded by USAID and responds to the complex crisis that has evolved in Somalia. 

The overall program goal is to mitigate conflict; to promote stability and community cohesion, and to strengthen citizens’ relationships with government officials. TIS implements quick impact activities linked to longer-term stabilization goals.

The TIS program is currently seeking a skilled, diplomatic, effective, and highly motivated Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Assistant to join our Nairobi based grants team.

Qualifications:
  • University degree in Political Science, International Relations, International Development, Communications, Journalist, Monitoring/Evaluation, Program Management, Conflict Resolution, or relevant field.
  • One to two years of progressively responsible professional experience in M&E and reporting required.
  • Experience working with USAID or an international donor is required; -previous experience on governance or stability projects preferred.
  • Experience in monitoring and evaluation, donor reporting; data management systems, institutional learning required.
  • Must be detail-oriented, proactive, and a problem solver
  • Must be flexible, willing to perform assigned and additional duties and work irregular hours under unpredictable conditions.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to manage a diverse range of professional relationships is essential.
  • Able to multitasks and prioritize heavy workload
  • Fluency in written and spoken English required
  • Fluency in Somali language is strongly preffered.
  • Interest and availability to travel throughout Somalia.
