Vacancy: Senior Personal Secretary to the Governor

Our client, who is one of the fastest growing 47 County Governments in Kenya created under the Kenya Constitution (2010),wishes to recruit a highly organised individual as a Senior Personal Secretary to provide full administrative support to the Governor and to manage the very busy office of the Governor.

The person required will manage the office of the Governor with dignity, professionalism and efficiency.

Reporting to the Governor, the Personal Secretary to the Governors Role will include:
  • Working with departmental heads and executive officers to formulate and implement effective procedures and communication processes between them and office of the Governor;
  • Managing the Governors diaries, office records and also handling the office correspondences and enquiries.
  • Ensuring effective communication between and among all Departments and the office of the Governor to ensure effective service delivery;
  • Managing good relations with external stakeholders in order to build a strong and friendly corporate image as far as the office of the Governor is concerned;
  • Being the face and the first line communication channel in the office of the Governor.

The Person Required must have:
  • Good understanding of the Public Administrative processes and procedures, protocols and a professional qualification in office administration and / or public management form a reputable institution;
  • Notable success in record keeping, diary management, planning, documentation and management of correspondences and document;
  • Ability to think and act strategically while working with a diverse group of managers and people;
  • A Friendly, influential and executive leadership style, articulate and confident personality able to instil public confidence in dealing with the office of the Governor;
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication (written and spoken) and documentation skills
