Summary of the Position
This is a
senior position responsible for development and execution of sales strategies
to grow sales of all product lines and market share. The Sales Manager will
provide leadership to a team of highly skilled Educational Business Advisors in
growing the company business and increase consumer awareness of OUP products
while ensuring excellent brand image.
Key Responsibilities
The Sales
Manager will provide leadership in developing the overall sales strategy and
maximize sales of OUPEA’s high quality educational teaching and learning
materials to appropriate markets.
While
leading the team is sales planning and execution, the Sales Manager will
monitor market trends and steer activities to expand adoptions of front list
and backlist titles; and maintain existing adoptions in schools.
The Sales
Manager will build strong relationships with key stakeholders in the education
sector and customers; providing innovative solutions to acquire profitable
business relationships and maximize OUPEA market share.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
The
position requires an appropriate Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Marketing or
Education with ten (10) or more years in sales management and a proven track
record of consistent high performance.
In
addition, the individual must demonstrate a thorough understanding and
knowledge of the dynamics of the educational market and system in East Africa.
The
appropriate candidate will demonstrate knowledge, skill and experience in sales
team management, marketing theory, market research, relationship-building,
educational publishing industry, education and teaching, budget monitoring and
control, project planning and management.
