Job: Head, Balance Sheet Management

Job Objective(s)
Tactical management of the Bank’s Balance Sheet to achieve optimal profitability while minimising risk exposure.
Oversee the day to day management of a team of ALM analysts reporting key
balance sheet and liquidity risks.Tactical management of the Bank’s Balance Sheet to achieve optimal profitability while minimising risk exposure.
Provision of timely and relevant information on the Balance Sheet to facilitate decision making by management.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Identify
and monitor optimal Balance Sheet structure/ratios.
- Provide
leadership and management of ALM projects.
- Monitor
ratios in order to identify any change in the Bank Balance Sheet
structure.
- Identify
and monitor balance sheet gaps and liquidity risks as well as formulate
strategies to manage them.
- Prepare
the bank’s gap report.
- Monitor
bank’s Liquidity & Capital plan as well as contingency plan.
- Monitor
and evaluate impact of external environmental objectives on the Bank’s
business.
- Supervise
the preparation of the bank’s ALCO reports.
- Implement,
follow up and monitor ALCO directives.
- Monitor
Balance Sheet triggers as well as compliance with bank’s rate guide.
- Manage
Liquid assets of the bank as well as CBK account.
Job Requirements
Education
- Agood
first degree in any business related discipline.
- Masters
degree in Finance and other business-related disciplines.
- Professional
qualification will be an added advantage
Experience
- Minimum
of 7 years experience in a bank.
- Experience
in Balance Sheet Management/Asset & Liability Management very
useful.
- Experience
in Financial Control will be an added advantage.
