Research Executive - Kenya

The Research Executive is responsible for research projects and related production tasks under the supervision of a Senior Research Executive/Research Manager/Senior Research Manager.

This includes proposal writing, sample design, questionnaire design and testing, field materials preparation, table specifications, analysis plans, analysis, report writing and presentation preparation.

The Role:


Project Execution


Executing a field brief and supervising the process until the deliverables like a draft report or transcripts.

Specifically:

  • Preparation of draft project documents with guidance of the executive in charge that includes project instruments or quotations
  • Project’s desk research
  • Briefing of project teams together with the executive in charge
  • Update project references
  • Project budgeting and expenditure controls
Quality Control

Review and ensure that high quality standards of work are maintained on all:
  • Project documents
  • Draft study materials
  • Project plans
  • Draft reports
  • Field execution
  • Data – final transcripts
Client Relationship Management & Business Development
  • Ensuring that the Client is informed regarding the progress of projects.
  • Identifying new opportunities for research in Kenya & the region
  • Providing input into proposals
Research Design
  • Providing input into the design of relevant research instruments (questionnaires, discussion guides, interviewer briefs, sampling plans, etc)
Report Writing
  • Write accurate and insightful reports keeping proposal requirements and objectives in mind and adhere to relevant Ipsos Synovate Sub Saharan Africa standards
Presentations
  • Ensure that a presentation review meeting is set up with Senior Research Executive/Research Manager/ Senior Research Manager
  • Design presentation according to client and Ipsos Synovate Sub Saharan Africa standards
Team and people management
  • Responsible for coaching / on the job training for junior team members
  • Proactively responsible for their own learning & development
  • Promote team spirit
The Person:

To be successful in this role you will have:
  • A relevant University Degree
  • A minimum of 2 years experience in market research
  • Good knowledge of market research methodologies (preferably with an emphasis on quantitative research, but having both quantitative and qualitative experience will be an advantage)
  • Strong numeric skills
  • Excellent command of spoken and written English and Kiswahili
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage time effectively
  • Team leadership and project management skills
  • Strong Analytical skills
  • Excellent computing skills especially in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Personal Attributes
  • Self-driven and results-oriented
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with people of all levels.
  • High degree of professionalism in dealing with confidential matters.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong internal and external client relationships
