Job Description:
This position will include but not be limited to the following: Research in traditional medicines: rationalization of traditional medicines in collaboration with traditional healers; evaluation of plant drugs using medicinal phytochemistry, pharmacology and toxicology; formulation of herbal remedies. Research on anti parasitic or anti infectious agents of plant origin. Socio-cultural and anthropological aspects of traditional medicine.
Drugs development: experimental pharmacology and toxicology; biopharmaceutics

Clinical trials. Research on agents for the control and management of HIV/AIDS/STI . Quality assurance of drugs: quality control and surveillance for medicinal products .
Duties and Responsibilities
- Support
the conduct of ongoing research the above mentioned fields.
- Development
of research projects/ grants in the same fields.
Preferred Skills:
Qualifications and Competencies
Qualifications and Competencies
- Degree
a relevant discipline.
- Masters
in Public Health or Epidemiology or a research related Masters (PhD would
be an added advantage).
- Knowledge
and demonstrable skills in a wide range of research including experience
in clinical trials (/and or laboratory science.
- Training
in Good clinical practice (GCP)/ or GCLP.
- Excellent
written and verbal communication.
- Competency
in MS office.
- Must
have demonstrated leadership skills.
- Must
be a team player.
