If you were careful to look at today’s papers,
you will have noticed a very good article on generation Y’s career behaviors.
In the job market of today, people are no longer asking if they will change
jobs, but when. In our current economy, a generation Y employee averagely stays
in his or her job for three years. Frequent job changes have become the norm
rather than the exception.
If you are planning on changing your career any
time soon, I will advice on two deadlines – change before the end of this year
up to mid next year or wait until the year after. Have you thought on the most
important things to do before changing a career? I bet this applies even to
fresh job seekers. If a job change is in your near future, one of the best ways
to begin the process is by evaluating your skills. You might think of skills as
the raw materials of any given company: When a company has employees with the
right skills, it can accomplish or exceed its goals.
