Financial Accountant Job in Nairobi

Our client, a local leader in the construction industry seeks to fill the position of a Financial Accountant

Reports to: Financial Manager

Department:Operations

Section: Finance

Location: Head Office, Nairobi

Main Purpose of the Job 

To maintain creditors’ records, maintain cashbooks, do bank reconciliation and prepare periodic financial statement.

Field of Responsibilities 
  • To maintain and update creditors ledger and salary advances;
  • To maintain cashbooks for all the Company’s bank accounts and reconcile the cash books with the bank statements;
  • Accounting for revenue received and expenses incurred;
  • Completes both monthly and annual accounts entries/computations in time;
  • Stimulates staff performance by availing necessary tools and other requirements for their work;
  • Determines when to process payments for the creditors and petty cash float for the company;
  • Calculate Salary and Wage amounts for Lee Construction;
  • Prepares Payroll in consultation with HR & Administration Department
  • Maintaining fixed asset register; and
  • Facilitating Audit by external auditors.

Job Specifications and other Information Related to the Job 

Academic: B. Com. Degree(Accounting or Finance) or Business Administration

Professionals: CPA(K); Computer Literacy; knowledge of using Accounting Softwares

Experience: 5 years as an accountant
