Our client, The Kenya Tea Development Agency (KTDA), is Kenya’s premier tea organization providing management services to the small scale tea sector for effective production, processing and marketing of high quality teas. Currently, KTDA manages 63 tea factories.
The KTDA business strategic plan underscores the importance of automation of business processes and the leverage of ICT to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of KTDA operations. To meet its expanding technology needs, KTDA is looking to recruit a dynamic and results oriented individual to fill the position of General Manager, ICT.
ICT specific roles and responsibilities:
- Co-ordinate the development of an innovative and world-class ICT strategy for KTDA, its subsidiary companies and joint ventures;
- Align the ICT strategy to the overall KTDA business objectives and ensure that it evolves to meet the changing needs of the organization and its business units;
- Plan, coordinate and ensure delivery of all information technology needs for the company;
- Develop policies and standards for the use of ICT within the organization and monitor adherence;
- Develop and monitor the ICT budget and ensure best value-for-money;
- Manage the planning and delivery of ICT projects; and
- Carry out research and advice management on emerging technologies and trends that can benefit KTDA.
Person specifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in an ICT related field (Masters degree in a related field will be an added advantage);
- At least eight (8) years experience in a busy and complex information support services department four of which should be at senior management;
- Demonstrated experience and proven track record of leading change initiatives; and
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
