We are seeking qualified candidates for the position of Program Manager for the RESPOND Project in Kenya
The RESPOND Project is a USAID-funded global project that works with Ministries of Health, nongovernmental  organizations, and the private sector to increase the demand for, access to and use of family planning and reproductive health (FP/RH) services using a supply-demand-advocacy/policy improvement model.
The focus is on the informed and voluntary use of family planning with extra emphasis on the underutilized long-acting and permanent methods of contraception (LAIPMs) and other reproductive services.
RESPOND is led by EngenderHealth in partnership with six other organizations.
Job Summary:
The RESPOND Project Manager in Kenya is based in Nairobi and works closely with a team of experts in family planning/reproductive health; community engagement; and policy/advocacy to increase access and use of health services. This includes working towards the achievement of the vision and strategy of the RESPOND Project, managing key relationships with the Project’s staff, national, international and local partners, and key stakeholders including other donors and cooperating agencies.

He/she will oversee and provide supervision to project staff in Kenya and provide technical support to the design and implementation of the RESPOND strategy namely:
1) revitalizing family planning in general with a focus on scaling up the use of implants, IUDs and revitalizing female sterilization and
2) the replication and evaluation of the Community Post-abortion Care (COMMPAC) Project.
Lastly, the manager will coordinate the conduct of two possible research activities:
1) case study on mobile service delivery and
2) investigating client use dynamics.
Other activities may be added as the project grows.
Qualifications
  • Advanced degree specializing in public health or relevant area related to international health and development.
  • At least 10 years providing technical leadership and/or managing health technical assistance projects related to reproductive health, maternal and child health, HIV/AIDS, community engagement; health policy or communications.
