Perform a range of administrative and editorial tasks necessary to get the publication published
Responsibilities
- Assist senior editorial staff in the administration of the commissioning, planning and production of the magazine.
- Act as the liaison for the many people involved in the publication, from the receipt of texts from authors through to the handover to production staff. :
- Liaise with other in-house teams, writers, photographers, printers, designers and production staff to negotiate and monitor timescales for
stages in the publishing process; - Manage the administration of work commissioned to freelance writers, picture researchers, photographers, stylists and illustrators;
- Organise and research projects to tight deadlines;
- Summarizing written material;
- Correcting manuscripts;
- Filing, photocopying, and other routine administrative tasks.
- Using your own specialist knowledge to contribute ideas;
- Sourcing freelancers or other authors to produce new materials;
Skills and Qualities
- Education: communications/media studies/journalism/printing.
- Writing or editing experience
- Enthusiasm, excellent interpersonal skills, self-motivation and flexibility;
- IT, administrative and secretarial skills (including word processing, internet research and email);
- A high standard of written and spoken English;
- Attention to detail, together with the ability to proofread;
- The ability to stay calm under pressure;
- The ability to manage time effectively, often using your own initiative, and keeping to tight deadlines.
- Own Computer and internet connection

- A degree in journalism or similar qualification;
- Ability to write reviews and features in a descriptive but concise style.
- Excellent computer skills (MS Word, Power Point and Excel)
- Willingness to travel as required, at times on short notice
- Ability to generate story ideas on his/her own
- A high standard of written and spoken English;
- Should possess good time management skills, self-motivation, versatility and problem-solving skills
