As Legal & Privacy Counsel at CarePay / M-TIBA you support our
business on a broad range of legal and data privacy matters. In Kenya, you work
directly with our commercial and operational teams on contracting our business
partners and offer regulatory guidance to our colleagues. With our global
Compliance team, you work on other legal and data matters for the CarePay
group.
Key Responsibilities Legal:
- Contracting with
business partners (such as payers and providers of healthcare), general
terms and conditions, and contract templates for CarePay’s platform and
services.
- Advising on
regulations to support the business (e.g. on health insurance and payments
laws).
- Policies,
processes, and employee trainings, to empower our business teams and
enable compliance and business growth (e.g. on contracting, AML/CFT, ABC).
- Procurement and
vendors, including (IT) supplier contracts and insurance policies.
- Contract
management, corporate governance and housekeeping.
Key
Responsibilities Data:
- Data processing
arrangements with business partners and intra-group, privacy impact
assessments, and data processing register.
- Advising on data
privacy regulations in various jurisdictions (incl. East Africa, EU,
MENA).
- Data protection
policies, statements and processes, and employee trainings, to empower our
business teams and enable compliance and business growth.
- Regulator,
partner, and data subject management (incl. audits and reporting).
Educational
Qualifications
- University
degree in relevant field(s), e.g. Private Law, Information Law, Cyber
Security, and/or Computer Science.
- Legal courses in
contracting, IT/IP (tech), compliance, data protection and privacy, and/or
health insurance.
- 6-8 years
relevant working experience, with at least 3 years on each of legal and
data.
- Experience at
atop tier international advisory firm and as an in-house counsel.
