Microbiology Assistant
Key responsibilities:
General cleanliness
- Maintain general cleanliness of laboratory, laboratory
apparatus and equipment for safe and reliable results
- Manage laundry of laboratory coats and attire
Sample Management
- Maintain and update Laboratory registers for samples and
reference material
- Maintain inventory of laboratory reagents/chemicals and
apparatus for accountability
- Prepare culture and media for analysis of samples and ensure
safe disposal afterwards.
- Receive samples from clients; assess availability of all the
requirements of analysis before logging into the register
- Manage storage areas within the laboratory to ensure
accessibility and traceability of samples.
- Prepare samples for disposal and required documentation
Records
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records.
- Filing, retrieval and archiving of Laboratory related
documents for easy access
Job requirements:
- Diploma in Microbiology, Biotechnology or any other related
course
- At least 3 years’ hands-on experience in a Microbiology
testing laboratory
- Experience working in an ISO 17025:2017 accredited laboratory
is desirable
