PURPOSE:
This role is responsible
for create and maintain overall network plans to support the organization’s
business strategy, initiating service level agreements with customers, plan and
design all aspects of the infrastructure necessary to ensure provision of
network services that meet such agreements.

Manager
Direct reports: None
Financial Responsibility: None
Key Responsibilities
1. Advise and provide
technical expertise on database development framework and processes;
2. Analyses data
requirements, to establish, modify or maintain a data model and interpret model
into a database schema;
3. Evaluate potential
solutions, demonstrate, install and commission selected products;
4. Interact with data
models, object relational database mapping and producing reports;
5. Develop and enable
enterprise reporting and business intelligence services;
6. Collaborate with IT
project management office, software developers and infrastructure specialists
in IT project delivery;
7. Responsible for the
delivery of software based enterprise wide projects;
8. Advise and support data
managers and statisticians in execution of dynamic data tasks;
9. Performance tune all
database environments to all systems are available and ensure the use of latest
technology;
10. Conduct research on
development of improved frameworks and technologies for database efficiencies;
11. Advice on department
resources regarding recruitment and staffing;
12. Ensure that the
appropriate disaster recovery measures are in place; and
13. Advice and review
backups and recovery policies and SOP’s.
Job Specifications
1. Bachelor of Science
Degree in Information Technology/Computer Science or in related specialization
of study; Masters degree is an added advantage
2. Relevant DBA
Certification e.g. OCA, OCP, MCSD, MCSE, MYSQL for DBA, AGILE, IBM analytics,
PMP, PRINCE2
3. Minimum 5 Years with 3
Years’ experience at Supervisory level
Desired Skills
1. Experience in Data
management for scientific studies
2. Advanced knowledge of
computer languages;
3. Expert knowledge of
writing program documentation;
4. Strong understanding of
the software development cycle;
5. Ability to identify
tasks which require automation and automate;
