Field Interviewers
The
African Population and Health Research Center (APHRC) is a leading
Africa-based, African-led, international research institution headquartered in
Nairobi, Kenya, with a regional office in Dakar, Senegal.
Our
researchers are contributing to the body of evidence about the critical issues
in population health and well-being impeding Africa’s development in order to
provide strong direction and recommendations to policy and decision-makers at
all levels.
Our
priority research areas are Human Development, Health and Well-Being, Data
Science and Evaluation, and Population Dynamics and Urbanization in Africa.
In
addition to the research component, APHRC has other programmatic areas in
Research and Related Capacity Strengthening, Policy Engagement and Communications,
and International programs.
The APHRC invites applications for Qualitative and Quantitative Field Interviewers in a study that aims to evaluate the effectiveness of a childcare model for enhancing the economic outcomes of women living in low-income communities in Nakuru, Kenya.
Quantitative
Field Interviewers
Duties
and Responsibilities
1.
Conduct interviews on all recruited study participants.
2.
Complete, edit and submit all assigned interviews for cross-checking and
verification by the supervisor on a daily basis.
3.
Keep updated records and databases of assigned work.
4.
Regularly file reports on project activities.
5.
Review the collected data to ensure all questions are completed prior to online
submission.
6.
Other related tasks assigned by the supervisor, project manager and principal
investigator
Minimum
Qualifications
· Kenya
Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) certificate, with a minimum grade of
C Plain.
· Must be
a resident of Nakuru County preferably from Nakuru Town West Sub-County (area
of residence should be clearly indicated on the CV or cover letter).
· Proven
experience in quantitative data collection.
· Fluent
in English and Swahili, both oral and written.
· Experience
in electronic data capture methods like survey CTO or Open Data Kit (ODK) and
devices like electronic digital recorders.
