is an indigenous NGO registered in Kenya and based in Kisumu with presence in
34 Counties since 1995.
KMET
envisions communities with accessible quality, sustainable RH and education
information and services that promote human rights. The mission is to promote
sustainable development among underserved communities through innovative health
and education programs.
KMET
prides itself in making deliberate efforts to come up with health innovations
targeting underserved communities in both the private and public health sectors
within the laid policy frameworks.
The
positions are to start in January 2023 for a One-year renewable contract based
on performance.
Background
KMET anticipates funding to implement an Integrated Adolescents Sexual Reproductive Health Services Program that aims at increasing access to Quality Sexual and reproductive health services and information taking a Human Centered Design approach in Bungoma, Busia, Vihiga, Homabay and Marsabit Counties.
The
program builds on previous successful initiatives supported by KMET to expand
sexual and reproductive health care services for the Adolescent girls and young
women.
The
program is expected to ensure that adolescents and young women are able to
safely plan their pregnancies and improve their sexual and reproductive health,
particularly the young and marginalized.
Project
Officers – Community Engagement (4 Positions)
Purpose
of the position
Reporting
to the RHMNCAH Projects Associate, the Community Mobilization Officer will
assist in the development, implementation, and management of the project’s
community-based activities for increased uptake.
This
includes assisting with development of work plans, liaising with related POs
regarding implementation, and management of community aspect of the project.
Main
Duties;
· Lead in
community program coordination and implementation
· Coordinate
technical assistance for program implementation
· In
liaison with the Policy and Advocacy Lead, interpret and solve policy related
issues
· Assist
the team in the design, implementation, monitoring and assessment of activities
· Write
reports, assist in development of annual work plans, project monitoring
tracking matrices, target implementation plan and relevant reports as required.
· Work
closely with program staff to ensure quality implementation of programs.
· Assist
in the development of new program approaches that are linked to related
services
Desirable
Qualifications
· A
Degree/Diploma Qualification in any Social sciences or Public Health with
extensive experience in community-based work or related field is required;
additional certifications in health-related areas are an added advantage.
· At
least 3 years of experience in Community mobilization for FP/ASRH related
issues.
· Be well
versed with ASRH/RMNH related policies and guidelines.
· Experience
working with MOH systems and community health strategies.
· Knowledgeable
in material development and review as well as training facilitation.
· Excellent
communications skills – both verbal, written and presentation.
· MUST be
ready to travel over long distances via road.
· Computer
skills including demonstrated hands on-experience with MS Suite-Word, Excel,
and PowerPoint
