The hospital wishes to recruit an ideal candidate for the following position:-

Specialist JCIA Coordinator
Reporting to the Head of Performance Improvement Team, the successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing both quality improvement, patient safety initiatives and safe Care.
Key Responsibilities
·         Interprets and implements quality assurance standards in the hospital to ensure quality care to patients, while monitoring and supporting quality improvement plans in collaboration with Head of PIT.
·         Reviews quality assurance standards, studies existing hospital policies and procedures, and interviews hospital personnel and patients to evaluate quality.
·         Writes and updates quality assurance policies and procedures, as required.
·         Reviews and evaluates patients’ open and closed medical records, applying quality assurance criteria.
·         Selects specific topics for review, such as problem procedures, drugs, high volume cases, high risk cases, or other factors.
·         Performs data aggregation, analysis, validation as per required standards. Compiles statistical data and writes narrative reports summarizing quality assurance findings.
·         Oversee and facilitate JCIA chapters’ preparation by reinforcing and auditing standards and safe practices on ground.
·         Reviews patient records, applying utilization review criteria, to determine need for admission and continued stay in hospital.
·         Performs clinical audits to ensure provision of safe patient care as per best practices.
·         Attends to morbidity and mortality reviews meetings and follow action plans to closed identified gaps in preventable cases
·         Initiates quality projects, process of Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for sentinel events, near miss incidences, Proactive risk analysis i.e. Failure mode and effect analysis (FMEA), makes a comprehensive action plan and makes follow-up on closure report.
·         Prepares Internal Audit Schedules, assisting with Internal Audits and Audit results
·         Reviews Non-conformances, Corrective Actions, Observations, and Patient Complaints for repetitive trends, recommendations for changes and/or processes.
·         Conducts internal quality audits (JCIA), prepare records and work on closure with relevant clinical heads
·         Serves as a liaison with hospital and programmatic committee on JCIA readiness, quality and accreditation standards as appropriate
Required qualifications, attributes and experience
·         Must have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing either from a local or international institution
·         A Master of Science in Nursing either from a local or international institution will be an added advantage
·         S/he will have a minimum of ten (10) years working experience in a JCIA accredited hospital with both local, Regional and international exposure
·         S/he must demonstrate understanding of quality initiatives not limited to JCIA and ISO
·         S/he should have strong leadership, people management, negotiating and influencing skills with the ability to build relationships and encourage consensus, partnering and networking at all levels.
·         Demonstrated critical thinking skills in the problem solving process.

·         Ability to organize work load and identify priorities appropriately
·         Certified in BLS, ACLS and PALS

Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Manager
Job Summary
·         The Nurse Manager, MCH will also participate in the strategic planning for Obstetrics/Gynecology department
·         Develop, lead and coordinate a multidisciplinary team to deliver quality of care to all clients seeking services in MCH department and ensure effective utilization of resources in line with institutional goals and objectives.
·         The Nurse Manager, MCH will be responsible for delivery of nursing/midwifery quality care in all aspects of inpatient and outpatient MCH care.
Capital & operational budgets and efficient utilization of available resources in MCH unit.
·         S/he will need to promote and maintain high standards of professional Nursing/Midwifery Care to meet the needs of MCH Clinics clients and Obstetric Unit patients and their families.
·         S/he will participate actively in decision making related to patient care and will ensure patients’ safety, dignity and respect are maintained at all times
Required qualifications, attributes and experience
·         Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)
·         ALSO and EmONC certification
·         At least five years of clinical working experience in midwifery
·         Registration with the Nursing Council of Kenya and having a valid practicing license.
·         High degree of administrative capability and good leadership skills
·         Proficiency in MS office packages

Unit Manager – Private Ward
Job Summary
·         Responsible for providing overall leadership and direction to Nursing services in the Private Ward
·         Ensure effective utilization of resources (both human capital and equipments) in line with institutional goals and objectives
·         Lead the department in quality improvement initiatives to ensure delivery of safe and quality patient care
·         Monitor and implement the patient satisfaction report
Required qualifications, attributes and experience
·         Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)
·         At least 3 years of clinical working experience in private ward
·         Registration with the Nursing Council of Kenya and having a valid practicing license.
·         High degree of administrative capability and good leadership skills
