Laboratory Technologists (2)
Overall Job Function: The Laboratory Technologist will provide accurate, timely and
cost effective testing of patient samples to aid in the diagnosis and treatment
of disease in compliance and harmony with the quality laboratory system.
Key Responsibilities:
·
Perform Laboratory investigations as
per clinician’s request and ensure accurate, reliable and timely results.
·
Ensure that all relevant records are
updated and maintained.
·
Monitor and supervise proper usage of
laboratory reagents.
·
Maintain Laboratory machines in good
order- cleaning and covering after use.
·
Ensure general laboratory cleanliness
is maintained.
·
Ensure SOP’S are used at all times.
·
Ensuring safety procedures in the
laboratory are maintained.
·
Preparing of stains, reagents and
solutions necessary for all lab tests.
·
Participate in the department
planning and forecasting of laboratory supplies.
·
Ensure laboratory tests are performed
accurately and timely
·
Ensure proper collection, packaging
and transportation of laboratory samples to other outsourced centers.
·
Supervise the storage of laboratory
reagents and cold chain system to avoid compromised reagents that may lead to
false reporting.
·
Carry out any other duty assigned by
your supervisor.
Requirements:
·
At least two years’ experience in a
busy facility.
·
Diploma in Medical Laboratory
Technology from a board recognized institution.
·
Registration with the Kenya Medical
Laboratory Technologists and Technicians Board and with a current practicing
license.
·
Should be ready and able to work in a
rural /slum set up.
·
Computer Literate.
Pharmaceutical
Technologist
Overall Job
Function: Provision of pharmaceutical services
at the facility
Key
Responsibilities
·
Dispensing drugs and other medication
to clients observing good dispensing practices.
·
Real time updating and maintenance of
the daily activity register and / or the electronic dispensing tool.
·
Preparing of monthly commodity
consumption and patient summary report/orders.
·
Preparing of monthly ARV consumption
and opportunistic drug consumption and patient summary reports/orders.
·
Maintain and ensure security of
pharmacy keys.
·
Ensure pharmacy is clean, orderly and
neatly arranged.
·
Ensure pharmacy records are accurate,
precise and secure.
·
Maintain buffer stocks for
commodities.
Minimum
Qualifications
·
Have a Diploma in Pharmacy and
licensed by the Pharmacy and Poisons Board to practice.
·
Have 2 years’ experience in a busy
Pharmacy – preferably in a busy hospital
·
Be highly motivated and enthusiastic
individual.
·
Have good communication &
interpersonal skills, flexible and with proven ability to work in a team.
·
Be proficient in Microsoft office.
·
Must be ready and willing to work in
a rural set up
Clinical Officer
in Charge
Overall Job
Function: To ensure that the facility
offers high quality and comprehensive HIV/ AIDS/ TB care and treatment services
to all patients.
Key
Responsibilities
·
Ensure quality care to clients in HIV
/AIDS Comprehensive Care Clinic (CCC)
·
Coordinate staff development
activities in the facility
·
Provide leadership and management in
the facility
·
Provide quality clinical care to all
departments.
·
Ensure generation and utilization of
data in the facility i.e. Improve on facility utilization of data
·
Mentor and train other staff;
Participate in organization and facilitation of information sharing forums
including stakeholders meetings, PSC and MDT meetings etc.
Minimum
Qualifications
·
Diploma in Clinical Medicine &
Surgery with at least 3 years’ experience working in a HIV /AIDS Comprehensive
Care Clinic.
·
Must be registered with Clinical
Officers’ Council.
·
At least 2 years working experience
in a busy health facility.
·
Excellent communication skills.
·
Must be ready and willing to work in
a rural set up
·
Training in the clinical management
of HIV and/or TB would be an advantage
·
Ability to work on multiple tasks
simultaneously and meet deadlines
·
Exceptional organizational and
management skills
·
Excellent customer service and
counseling skills
·
Self-starter with the ability to work
under minimal supervision
·
Computer literate
·
Must be ready and willing to work in
a rural /slum set up.
