Research Assistant
Trócaire is looking to hire a
research assistant to support the Kenya Girl’s Puberty Book Project. The aim of
the project is to develop a book for Kenyan girls aged 10-14 who are
transitioning through early puberty into adolescent. The book is an adaptation
of a girl’s puberty book that has successfully been developed in partnership
with Ministries of Education in five countries to date (Tanzania, Ghana,
Ethiopia, Cambodia and Madagascar).

found here Included in the puberty book is content on
girl’s changing bodies, menstrual hygiene management, and stories collected
from adolescent girls. Given the very strong network of individuals and
organizations working on menstrual hygiene management (MHM) in Kenya already,
and the new government guidelines on MHM, the development of a puberty book in
Kenya will benefit from the many strong partners and collaborators that exist

Reporting to Project Coordinator.
This is a Fixed contract for five (5) months and is based in Kenya
Qualifications

Kenyan national
·
Holder of a relevant Bachelor’s
degree and prior training in qualitative research methods
·
Prior experience working with
adolescent girls, preferably on adolescent health topics
·
Fluent in English and Swahili.
Familiarity in Dholuo will be an advantage
·
Ability to travel and live in Siaya
and Nairobi for up to 4-8 weeks
·
