Locations: Kakuma
and Dadaab (Non family duty stations)

The Position: He/she
will provide overall supervision and coordination in the field, specifically
focusing on representation, human resources, logistic, finance, resource
mobilization, security management, and internal control for all project
activities in line with HI-TUSK sector’s programme strategy.
He/she will be responsible
for:-
1. Representation of HI at
field level by:
- Representing
HI at field level and maintaining a positive image of the organization
- Referring to
the RCRA for any decision that engages HI or any issue that requires
policy direction
- Developing and
maintaining positive working relationships with local officials,
government bodies and international agencies
2. Participate in the
strategic development of the projects and pilots its implementation at field
level
- Monitoring the
needs, context and overall situation in the field and mak ing sure that
needs and gaps are regularly assessed by the project teams
- Spearheading
development at the field level through stakeholder analysis,
achievements/gaps/strengths analysis, participatory process (beneficiary,
partners and staff) to define priorities.
- Providing
inputs to the program strategy and to its review
3. Resource mobilization at
field level and coordination of compound partnerships
- In
coordination with the RC-RA, being in charge of resource mobilization at
field level and maintain positive and regular partner relations.
- Exchanging
minutes of the meeting with the RC-RA, Programme Director, and Head of
Programmes
4. Coordinate projects
implementation
- Coordinating
and supervising the implementation of the activities and making sure they
are implemented according to HI and the donors requirement, timely and in
the best interest of the targeted beneficiaries
5. Plan the financial
strategy of the field and ensure its implementation
- Elaborating
the annual support cost budget and following up its implementation after
validation
- Validating the
cash requests for the projects
- Ensuring the
accountancy reporting to Nairobi is done in time
6. Management and supervision
of staff under its line management
- Supervising
and leading the teams, (supervising the elaboration of annual action
plans, carrying out appraisal of the team members under your line
management)
- Strictly
adhering to the application of HI Human Resource Management policy and
tools for the project teams, e.g. JD, leave approval, end of probation,
propose disciplinary measures
7. Security management in
close collaboration with the RCRA and Programme Director for assets and human
resources.
The Field Co-ordinator will
be the main focus for HI safety and security in the Field
8. Regular reporting
- Writing
reports of the key meetings and sharing them with RCRA and other management
staff
- Ensuring
monthly reporting on the activities to the Program Director and other
management staff
Qualifications and Skills
Required
Education: At
least a Bachelor Degree in Social Sciences or Management discipline or its
equivalent
Experience
Experience
- At least 5
years practical experience project / programme management
- Knowledge of
the disability sector is an added advantage
