The successful candidate will be responsible for creating model
portfolios, providing financial advice and support to the Portfolio Management
team and the Investment Committee.
Responsibilities
·
Conduct macroeconomic, industry and
company research and analysis as well as identify new asset allocation and
securities.

Develop company valuations and
financial models to be used in decision making by the portfolio management
team.
·
Identify attractive investment
opportunities for the Bank In order to diversify the portfolio.
·
Develop transaction marketing
materials including selling memoranda, road show presentations and pitch books
with the aim of capturing the intended market i.e. pension schemes and high
network clients.
·
Act as a point of contact throughout
the transaction process to ensure effective and smooth operations.
·
Develop varied industry and
transaction expertise, and stay current on industry trends and developments
·
Understand the underlying trends that
affect the equity and fixed income capital markets e.g. inflation, relevant
legislations, profitability of companies etc.
·
Obtain a clear and wide understanding
of the interests and investment criteria of private equity firms, and the
factors that guide their decisions
Requirements
·
Bachelor of Commerce -Finance Option/
Degree in Actuarial Science, Statistics, or any other Finance related course
·
Msc in Finance and Experience in
Pension fund management industry will be an added advantage
·
At least one (1) year experience in a
busy Investment Management firm
·
Proficient in computer applications,
especially Excel
·
Chartered Financial Analyst
(CFA)level 2 qualification

Institute of Chartered Investment

Portfolio Manager

The successful candidate will be
responsible for creating and managing investment allocations for client’s
institutional or corporate investors in line with Retirement Benefits Authority
(RBA) &Capital Markets Authority (CMA)Guidelines so as to achieve the
client’s investment objectives.
Responsibilities
·
Participate actively in the
development and implementation of investment strategies, including overall
asset allocation decisions and underlying investment selection in coordination
with the investment committee and in line with the Fund’s investment policy
·
Ensure Investment Committee
recommendations are promptly executed in line with RBA and the Investment
Policy Statement (IPS)limits
·
Report to the Trustees on the fund’s
performance, key transactions undertaken during the reporting period as well as
proposed strategy for the coming period
·
Sell Nat bank Trustee &
Investment Company products which include Retirement Schemes’ Management,
wealth management, and retail investment.
·
Oversee proper cash management as per
set guidelines by ensuring cash is swept within two days and the funds availed
for payments within 7 days
·
Proactively search for new investment
opportunities and submit proposals on their suitability to the Board of
Trustees
·
Rebalance the client portfolios to
align them to IPS at least once monthly.
·
As a member of the Investment
Committee, thoroughly analyze the assumptions for valuation models and
critically interrogate the recommendations made by the Research Team
·
Continually advise Management on new
products and improvements that can grow the funds under management
·
Work with other specialist investment
consultants including offshore partners and property agents so as to maximize
Scheme’s returns
·
Effectively communicate the Banks
investment process, overall economic and investment outlook for client meetings
and internal and external communication
·
Attend the Quarterly Board of
Trustees meeting and present the Investment Management
·
Quarterly report, the economic
commentary and the strategies for the next quarter
·
Liaise with the client in all matters
pertaining to the retirement fund including payments and with external
consultants appointed by the scheme e.g. auditors, Administrators, Custodians
& Actuaries

Continually Train Trustees on new
Market Developments including changes in legislation and new products e.g. Real
Estate Investment Trusts (REITS) And Derivatives
Qualifications

Manager Card Operations

The successful candidate will be
responsible for managing the Card Operations Unit by providing leadership,
administration, governance, performance & productivity management.
The role holder will manage the daily
activities and any assigned projects related to the unit as well as implement
card operations policies and procedures while recommending changes to increase
efficiency.
Responsibilities
·
Leadership and team management to
ensure accurate and timely execution of all transactions including management
of the card production process, card transactions clearing, Inter affiliate
settlement such as VISA, Pesa Point, Post Bank and others that may be assigned,
Dispute management and resolution to meet the unit’s objectives.
·
Provide Leadership in Risk control
for the unit by implementing and ensuring there is adequate controls framework
e.g. maker, checker, Financial, process and access controls, compliance to
various standards e.g. CBK Prudential guidelines.
·
Ensure Tranzware card system Trial
balance is duly reconciled and Reported in General ledger in the BFUB system
·
Manage the end to end card production
process which involves the delivery of the card to the customer within existing
SLA
·
Manage all disputed cases to ensure
that they are investigated, tracked and resolved within acceptable time frame
·
Manage communications related to the
unit between internal, third party and external parties on issues raised within
SLA to ensure seamless operation.
·
Leads in the implementation of system
changes to support new products, ensures system integrity and recommends
changes to more efficiently and effectively support services offered. This is
to be executed within the Project plan and budget for resource not limited to
time and staffing.
·
Daily submission of unit dashboards,
books of accounts and reconciliation reports.
·
Monthly submission of statutory
reports to CBK, Finance Department, Quarterly reporting to VISA and Human
resource on staff performance among others

Provide support to stakeholders in
regards to Assurance reports or submissions from the Department e.g. Audit and
Risk Units

Ensure an up to date alignment with
the regulations that may be affecting the unit from stakeholders such as Visa
among others and communication of the same with the relevant internal

The successful candidate will be
responsible for issuing Debit and Prepaid Cards as per the budget allocation
while ensuring that the card products are competitive, profitable and
functioning in line with customer value proposition. He / she will be required
to manage third party relationships e.g. vendors, Visa etc through tracking
card products and processes.
Responsibilities
·
Develop new products, drive card
acquisition and marketing plans in line with the card business strategy.
·
Optimally drive growth in new card
customer acquisition and usage.
·
Define, plan & execute card
product enhancements to promote issuance and usage.
·
Engage key retailers and strategic
partners to drive Debit and Prepaid sales as well as card utilization through
their outlets.
·
Oversee relationship management of
high net worth card customers, institutions and third parties involved in
offering the card product to the customer.
·
Manage card product sales
presentations and trainings within and without the bank.
·
Develop and agree on key KPIs for
each card product, measure result against KPI and develop action plans to
address shortfalls.

Manage projects on the roll out of
new Debit and Prepaid card products.
Requirements
·
Undergraduate degree from a
recognized University.

MBA will be an added advantage

5 years banking experience of which 2
must have been in a supervisory role.

Minimum 3 years experience in
specific industry expertise in payments, cards and/or card loyalty, both
operationally and strategically

Must have thorough knowledge of

Enterprise (SME) Products, Retail Banking products and services, and extensive
