Accountant
We are a Feeds Manufacturing Company
seeking to employ a qualified accountant to take up cost, intercompany, and
inventory accounting functions.
The incumbent will execute these key
functions to ensure effectiveness and efficiency of the organization through
excellent accounting.
Cost Accountant Functions;
·
Planning, Studying, and collecting
data to determine costs of business activity such as raw material purchases,
inventory and labor.
·
Analyzing data collected and
recording results
·
Analyzing changes in product
formulation, raw materials, manufacturing methods or services provided, to
determine effects on cost
·
Analyzing actual manufacturing costs
and preparing periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production
costs
·
Recording cost information for use in
controlling expenditures
·
Analyzing audits of different
suppliers RM costs and preparing reports
·
Making estimates of new and proposed
product costs
·
Providing management with reports
specifying and comparing factors affecting prices and profitability of products
or services.
·
Maintaining Cost Accounting System
·
Assisting in Month end close of the
General Ledger
·
Conducts physical inventories and
monitors cycle count program
·
Reconciles finished goods inventories
Intercompany Accounting Functions
·
Daily Monitoring of intercompany
transactions and processes and briefing the management every morning on the
progress.
·
Perform account reconciliations in
all system journals and research on the discrepancies between the parent
company and the branch/depots.
·
Ensure the accurate and timely
recording and closure of any intercompany activities, including current,
long-term and investment / equity based entries.
·
Record, classify, and summarize
financial transactions and events in accordance with generally accepted
accounting principles.
·
Perform internal controls on
intercompany process to ensure requirements are met.
·
Assist with improvement of general
operation activities
·
Reconcile all intercompany
transactions between affiliates.
·
Drive process to get to zero
differences/variances.
Inventory Accounting Functions
·
Assist in establishing and
implementing inventory policies and procedures
·
Report shortfalls and surplus
inventory weekly and monthly for replenishment
·
To ensure effective liaison between
the supply chain management team, audit, user departments and the finance
department on matters relating to inventory management
·
Prepare and distribute daily, weekly,
monthly and ad-hoc inventory levels and consumption reports to all the relevant
departments
·
Handle goods returns by adjusting the
stock item out of the vendors account and printing the adjusted vendors invoice
and passing same to the storekeeper and the accounts payable accountant
·
Perform margin analysis by SKU,
category and by branch
·
Responsible for communicating with
all department managers and purchasing on inventory levels and locations
·
Alert management on bad stock
management practices noticed and initiate actions to mitigate possible losses
·
Ensure proper, accurate, timely and
relevant financial records are maintained
·
Maintain and update the inventory data
base of the company
·
Ensure that there are duly authorized
documentary approvals for every data that is to be entered into the inventory
data base
·
Ensure that goods received by
warehouse are matched with the actual invoices from the suppliers in the ERP system
·
Coordinate with warehouse team to
implement and ensure control system to reduce damage, breakage and inventory
obsolescence
·
Assist other functional units within
the Finance team in carrying out jobs as and when required by the management
·
Maintain acceptable and accurate
inventory levels at warehouse and retail outlets
·
Support annual physical inventory
process across branch network
·
Work closely with Purchasing
department, Warehousing Operations, and Branch management to assure proper
inventory control and accounting practices
·
Support the Company budgeting process
with account analysis
·
Coordinate with accounting to ensure
that all product costs are properly taken in the cost of sales and inventory
costs
Desired Skills & Experience
·
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with
5 years relevant experience
·
In-depth experience in cost and
inventory accounting will be a plus
·
Ability to handle people, processes
and products

·

·
Strong proficiency in the use of

to inventory

Familiar with the Group’s ERP
