Position: Credit Control Officer
Job Responsibilities
- In charge of
growth and quality of micro-credit sector.
- Enforcement of
overall micro-credit strategies.
- Ensure proper
filing of micro-credit documents and files.
- Conducting
marketing in the branch to recruit more customers.
- Reviewing and
analysing the client’s credit risk status and offering expert advice to
the risk assessment committee.
- Maintaining and
observing an acceptable turnaround time for the various loan products as
defined in the service level agreements with the various credit section.
- Enforcement of
compliance to all credit policies and procedures
- Loan monitoring
and risk management with aim of avoiding credit defaulters and interest
suspension.
- Developing and
maintaining relationships with strategic partners and potential client
with aim to increase and maintain the banks credit base.
- Conducting
marketing activities to recruit more customers and maintain business
relationship.
- Conducting
borrower preliminary interview
- Visit to the
business and preparation of call report
- General
business assessment
- Preparation of
credit appraisal
Qualifications and Experience
- University
degree in finance, economics, statistics or a business related field.
- Professional
banking qualifications is a plus.
- Experience in
lending and customer care.
- Financial/credit
risk related training.
- Experience in
Micro-Finance Institution (MFI) at an officer level an added advantage
- Be able to
understand and implement processes and procedures.

implement credit processes.
- Lending and
customer care experience to create a balance between credit risk and
customer service..
- Demonstrate a
high degree of sensitivity, confidentiality and integrity when dealing
with internal and external customers.
- Management and
leadership ability: Have excellent interpersonal, organizing and people
management skills.
- Excellent
communication and presentation skills, with outstanding reporting skills..
